Katherine is a really great host!
First she was from the beginning very friendly and helpfull! When we arrived she baked us a great chocolate cake and gave us tips for restaurants nearby.
We enjoyed our stay at her apartment, because everything was clean, tidy and it looks exactly like the pictures. So if you want a nice and great place in Brooklyn, you should go to Katherine! Thanks again for everything, it was really amazing!
We stayed with Katherine for 2 weeks in Jan/Feb and thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite studying for a very important certification exam, she was welcoming and helpful. Katherine has a private bedroom and bathroom downstairs, and when she's home she mostly kept to herself there. It's almost like we had the apartment to ourselves. The now famous chocolate cake was there when she greeted us (which we ate on for a whole week), and she made a delicious batch of puttanesca pasta that we enjoyed for dinner together (and a couple days thereafter). Katherine preps coffee the night before, and the first person in the morning just needs to finish it. She was a wealth of advice for the neighborhood and NYC in general. We were in NYC for the big winter storm, so Katherine rented some movies from the library around the corner to keep us entertained.
The place itself is very nice and spacious. It's well appointed in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Very warm and bright with a big skylight over the kitchen. The bathroom has a small shower with lots of hot water and pressure (great to warm up after cold NYC winters). Katherine had recently purchased a real bed to replace the air mattress that guests were using previously, so that was a big plus.
The Bed-Stuy neighborhood is great. The whole street is 2-3 story brownstones. There are 2 small bodegas on the corner, and a great hip Italian place with the best service we received in NYC. A larger grocery store is about 10-15 blocks away, and easy to get to on the B26 bus that stops 2 blocks from the apartment. The apartment is 6 blocks from the A & C trains that take you into Manhattan and up the West side. It's also a convenient way to/from JFK airport by public transport. We always felt safe walking around.
Katherine is a great person and a kindness host. The room is comfortable, clean and beutiful. The house is really near to the metro and it's easy go to Manhattan. I really recommend her.
Kat made my friend and I feel completely welcomed into her beautiful home in Brooklyn. The room was incredibly comfortable, and had plenty of space for my friend and I. Having a private bathroom made things incredibly convenient as well.
Kat was also very helpful for directions and tips for getting around the city. She also had a lot of great recommendations for where to go and what to eat. This is definitely a place where you'd want to stay if you are interested in having a great time in Brooklyn!
To Every one !
New York is the place to be ! Katherine's home also ! We had a great time in NY but thank to Katherine. She has been so wonderful to welcome us with the little attention (Une vrai pâtissière ;-)), so kind to give us all the good tips to visit and to go to the best spots, so nice to share time around nice recommended and selfmade meals (une vrai "cordon bleu").
Everything stays in our mind and is really part of our great trip in New York.
Katherine has been so kind with us.
Many and many thanks Katherine, we will definitly keep in touch because a such good time like this one in a sweaty home is worth it.
So DO NOT hesitate a second, you can reserve and visit the greatest host.
Merci beaucoup :-)

Necessarily I have to make the assessment by part!
First, because they will not miss praise.
Second, according to not miss any detail.
1- The facilities are great, better than many hotels in the outside world.
A special note on the air mattress, which for us was different, but very comfortable!
The heating, shower, stove, microwave, refrigerator, wifi are the best!
The infrastructure: towels, soap, coffee, things that only a person concerned about his guest has ...
The wonderful reception (that cake !!!), many hosts should learn from Katherine!
A sweet and very helpful staff!
As I travel a lot for work, I could see the small details that make a huge difference!
Eg: have a metro map for guidance, know that you have a shop open until 24:00 and sells bags for those who were thrilled with the shopping! The balance in the bathroom which helped weigh the bags (do not forget ... NYC is everything, including consumption !!!)
Katherine gave all the tips of where to go, how to go, the easy, fast and economical way!
I recommend it to everyone!
I love traveling and hosting travelers. As a long-time New Yorker, I have hosted many friends from around the world and am happy to extend my home to the AirBnB universe. The rest of my spare time is devoted to cooking and eating out, music, skiing and reading about the obscure travel adventures of others.
