Location

La Habana, Cuba

El Vedado is a great choice for travelers interested scenery tourist attractions, nightlife, food and restaurants.

At walking distance you will find many historical and cultural point of interest like:

The main street running east to west is Calle 23, also known as "La Rampa".

Avenida de los Presidentes running north to south is one of the most splendid streets in Vedado, taking its name from the monuments that have been placed on its wide promenade to honor some of Cuba’s former presidents as well as other important historical figures, among them Calixto García and José Miguel Gómez.

Avenida Paseo, with large trees on both sides and a wide promenade with topiary and benches, is one of Havana’s most classy streets. There are luxurious mansions on both sides of the street, including Villa Lita (Museo-Biblioteca Servando Cabrera Moreno) and the former residences of Juan Pedro Baró and Catalina Laso (they were the stars of the outrageous love story that shook the Cuban society in the early twentieth century, when there was still no divorce law in Cuba, now “Casa de la Amistad”, and the former house of Pablo González de Mendoza now “Casa del Diplomático”

The Malecón (officially Avenida de Maceo) is a broad esplanade, roadway and seawall which stretches for 8 km (5 miles) along the coast in Havana, Cuba, from the Vedado neighborhood, along the north side of the Centro Habana neighborhood ending in the mouth of Havana Harbor in Old Havana, New businesses are appearing on the esplanade due to economic reforms in Cuba that now allow Cubans to own private businesses.

Museum Servando Cabrera “Villa Lita”,the museum’s collection includes over 5,000 pieces by Cabrera himself, as well as documents, catalogs, stamps, posters, art magazines, photographs, postcards and works by artists related to Cabrera. Outside the house is the Garden of Sculptures, where lovely pieces can be admired, including a huge mural by Marta Arjona and a sculpture by Rita Longa.

National Museum of Decorative Arts. Former house of José Gómez Mena, a mansion designed by the French architects P. Virad and M. Destugué in 1927. Aristocratic wealth, taste and passion are revealed through the more than 33,000 works of artistic and historic value from the reigns of Louis XV, Louis XVI and Napoleon III, as well as Oriental pieces from the 16th to the 20th centuries.

House Museum Dulce Maria Loynaz, former house of the famous Cuban poet of the 19th century

Revolution Square, originally called “Civic Square”, before 1959.

Colon Cementerty, one of the most important historical cemeteries in the world.

The Napoleon Museum, one of the most important collections from the 18th and 19th centuries preserved in the Western hemisphere
