We have been taking guests in our own family home for over 20 years. We have a spacious twin room available to rent. Great access to Dublin's delights is available via our 5 bus routes. Its history, culture and pubs are just on your doorstep
This is a large detached home, situated on a quiet road with no through traffic. We love to talk if people want to talk! Over the years we have catered for the Lead Teachers from the People to People Student Ambassador programme in the US. We enjoyed this hugely, and so are branching out into the AirBnB area. Our family have moved out and we have empty rooms now, and so we would enjoy the company of guests and visitors.
Mostly it is 1 room is available, a twin room ... single occupancy is at €35 per night, with an extra guest at €25 sharing in the twin. But inquire if you need more beds ... depending on our children being away for extended periods we can accommodate more at times.
Directly nearby is the foothills of the Dublin mountains and the famous Wicklow Way walking route.
Rathfarnham Castle is just down the road ,as well as 5 great local parks including Marlay Park and Bushy Park.
A bus leaves our local bus stop every ten minutes, and provides ready access to the City Centre. The bus is definitely the best way to get around the city. Dedicated bus lanes avoid the daily traffic snarls.

We had a lovely time at Ger and Jean's house. They are both extremely warm and welcoming and really made us feel like home.
We wish them all the very best!
Ger and Jean indeed have a lovely Dublin home. We felt welcome like friends, received a generous hosting, loads of laugther and good chats, very helpful recommendations and trip advice, all in a spotless place with a beautiful garden with lovely late flowers. Highly recommened hosts! :-)
What a welcoming couple! I literally felt like part of the family when I left. I had a very nice stay with Ger & Jean. The house was super clean, breakfast was just what I needed with a good range of options to keep me going for the day. Their kind nature was probably the best thing about my stay. We had some lovely chats and they left me to it afterwards to relax. Bus into city a few minutes walk away. I would definitely recommend staying with Jer & Jean :)
Clean does not really do justice - a spotless home and nice, welcoming environment and hosts.
Our stay with Ger and Jean was the perfect start to our Irish vacation. Jean met us at the bus and drove us to their home, prepared hot beverages for us, then answered questions and gave us an excellent briefing on everything from the household appliances to local restaurant recommendations and transportation options. Throughout our four day stay Ger and Jean provided assistance with everything from technical problems with our tablet to my grandson's homesickness. The house is spotlessly clean at all times. The beds are comfortable, the neighborhood is quiet and the room has blackout shades. A good variety of foods were offered to us for breakfast. I had initially been concerned about the location as we did not have a vehicle and the house is about ten miles from the city center, but Dublin busses stop two blocks away and busses to the center arrive every ten minutes. There are also excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. We are so glad that we chose this accommodation, Ger and Jean are the warmest loveliest people and the house is so comfortable, our stay couldn't have been better.
