We stayed in John's families' Guerneville home this past weekend. We had a great time! The house is newly renovated and has a spacious and modern feel, especially the kitchen. John gave us great tips for things to do in advance and the instructions left were very helpful. We really appreciated the flexibility around check in and check out time! The house has a hot tub, BBQ and a fireplace which were awesome.
The home is indeed located very close to town just a short walk over the walking bridge. Its located across the street from a park and playground. The kids loved this. There was some noise at night from the park one evening. I recommend this listing and we would love to return.
Place was beautiful and the beds were heavenly! Just as described throughout. John was incredibly communicative the entire time leading up to our stay - would definitely stay here again!
Had a wonderful time and highly recommend staying here! The house was a perfect size, the beds were super comfy, hot tub, deck, tennis courts across the street--overall had a fantastic weekend! The house is a very short walk into town which is filled with great coffee shops and yummy restaurants. Armstrong Redwood Park was also a short drive away (maybe 3 miles) and has beautiful hiking trails.
John was a great host, accommodating and very responsive. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you, John and family!
What an amazing weekend! John was an incredibly gracious host and it showed from the beautiful property to the well stocked linen closet. The furniture, the beds, everything comfortable and well thought out.
The property is located super close to downtown as well as nearby amenities including a tennis court and park. It takes about 7 minutes and your right in the center of town. You can't get much better than this to experience Guerneville.
I can't thank John enough.
We had a wonderful long weekend in Guerneville. The house is conveniently located a short walk from both the river and the town center. The house was equipped with everything we would need including bath and kitchen essentials. We made use of the grill on the back patio and if we had one more day, we would have taken advantage of the tennis courts in our front yard. The house does not have air conditioning, but even in late June, opening the windows at night was plenty circulation for us. Overall, we have a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend both this house and John as a host. John was very accessible and responsive. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!
I had a lovely stay this past weekend here; it was everything we needed it to be. John was friendly, very responsive, and was able to accommodate my very last-minute stay. John also gave me some suggestions of places in town to visit for meals/drinks/etc. We followed one of his suggestions and were pleasantly surprised! The house is a short walk to town, a couple different river access points, the tennis courts, and the mini golf place. Also, there are great hikes/trail runs in the Armstrong Redwood park, which is about 2 miles from the house. The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen was large and well stocked, the WiFi worked well, and the grill and hot tub were great as well. This is a lovely, comfortable home to spend a relaxing weekend away.
We had a group of girls up in wine country for my friend's bridal shower and John's place was absolutely perfect! The sleeping arrangements were excellent and super comfortable for all 6 of us. John was extremely accommodating, flexible and responsive. Location was also close to a cute little town!
We didn't get to try the hot tub, but hopefully the next time we're up, we'll have the opportunity to stay at John's place again. Would highly recommend for anyone!
My wife (Abby) and I (John) have lived in San Francisco for about 15 years. We have two children, a 6 year old boy and a 3 year old girl.
We used to travel a lot, but are on hiatus until we kick the kids out of the house.
