About This Listing
We both love our house and are very comfortable in it. We have a big fenced-in back yard that becomes an extension of our house when the weather is nice. We love to eat breakfast and dinners outside at the picnic table or on the gazebo whenever possible. We spend quite a bit of time tending to the garden and doing various "home owner" projects outside.
The neighbors are all very nice and welcoming. We all seem to take a lot of pride in our property and making it feel like home.
Guests will have full access to all areas of the house except for our bedroom. There is a pottery studio and sales shop on the property. Laura offers private wheel throwing lessons for $80/hour. Guests cannot access pottery studio otherwise.
We like to welcome the guest into the home and make them feel comfortable. We like our social time, but definitely like to have our alone time too. We might join you for a drink on the gazebo or retreat to our room to read or watch a movie.

Tim, Laura and Fuzzers (their beautiful cat) were excellent hosts. They offered all kinds of information on the area and were very flexible in setting up our check-in and check-out.
The room they provided was very comfortable as was their entire house (well air conditioned in the heat too). They also have an outdoor shower which we'd highly recommend. Their house is close enough to downtown Durham that my girlfriend was able to comfortably and safely walk into town. It was also very easy to get to from the airport by mass transit (her) or by car (him). All around a wonderful spot.
If we were ever in the area again we'd check to see if they were available before looking around for other places.
Laura and Tim were excellent hosts! The room and their home were as comfortable and welcoming as all the other guests have said in the reviews. My room awaited me with toiletries, chocolate bars, and a requested hairdryer. They graciously accommodated and were flexible with me checking in way later than I had earlier scheduled and with my early/late coming and goings. I am allergic to cats and they made sure to thoroughly clean and keep their adorable cat (i wish I wasn't allergic!) out of the bedroom. My only complaint is that due to my very busy schedule I wasn't able to really talk to them or spend any time with them or get a feel of Durham. I would stay with them again in a heartbeat!
We had a lovely time at Laura and tim's. This was the perfect way to find an apartment in Durham without spending a ton on a hotel. The room was great, the sheets were lovely, and the added bonus of a friendly cat was delightful.
