This is a quiet 1 bedroom in a charming 100-year-old building in downtown Oakland. Only a 5 min walk to great restaurants, bars, Oakland nightlife, Lake Merritt, BART. Spacious apartment with living, dining, and fully-equipped kitchen.
The apartment is clean, quiet, and close to everything you need. The building is over 100 years old with great vintage character. The apartment gets a lot of light, with big windows overlooking the wrap-around garden outside. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed. There's also a very comfortable queen-sized inflatable mattress, as well as a couch.
There's a fully-equipped kitchen with cookware and utensils. There's an outdoor common-space courtyard for grilling/hanging out.
Interaction with Guests
I typically won't be around during your stay, but I'm very communicative beforehand to make sure you'll have everything you need.
Only a 5 minute walk to beautiful Lake Merritt. There's a walking path that goes all the way around the lake. The apartment is very near to downtown Oakland and other desirable neighborhoods too, such as Grand Lake and Temescal. Both of these are just a 10 min drive/20 minute public transit ride away.
Yes, there's BART very nearby, which takes you into San Francisco, to SFO or OAK airport, Berkeley. The apartment is only a 5-7 min walk from the 12th and 19th St BART stations, and a 10 min walk from the Lake Merritt BART station. There's also plenty of buses (AC Transit) operating all throughout the east bay that serves downtown Oakland. There is only 2-hour street parking during the day, as this is a residential permit enforced area.
Please be courteous to the neighbors and turn the music/TV down after 9pm.
Excellent communication. Apartment was cozy yet spacious and light and exactly as described. Cool historic building. Though we never met, Timothy was a fantastic host! Perfect affordable getaway close to the city.
Great place. Great host. Timothy was very helpful with directions and making sure that I had everything I needed. His place is great. And the neighborhood is super convenient. All good. Highly recommend.
Timothy was a fantastic host. He left great instructions for us when we arrived, & the place was tidy and in a cool vintage building. He even welcomed us to use his kitchen supplies and coffee and tea! The neighborhood was good as well; close to the BART and near Lake Merritt, boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops.
Timothy was out of town, but he left keys for me and instructions. The bed was comfortable & the kitchen was available for use. There was no cable t.v., but I didn't require it. There was also a computer for my use, but again, I didn't require it. His apartment was within walking distance of the convention center where I was attending a conference. However, there is no parking whatsoever, especially not on the street. So I mostly paid to put my car in parking lots, which were not secure. The neighborhood was pretty dicey. I didn't feel comfortable walking in it at night.
Timothy communicated with me by phone & Sims and was quick to respond to my questions.
Didn't actually get to meet Tim but flat was in an awesome location and was so tidy and nice!! Communication from Tim was also really good - we had a great time.
We had the pleasure of staying at Timothy's Lake Merritt apartment. It was the perfect location, close to great food and drinks. We drove and parking was surprisingly a breeze. Timothy's apartment is clean bright, quiet and offers all the right amenities for an urban traveler.
This place was WONDERFUL!!! We wish we could have stayed longer. It was conveniently located, the apartment was exactly how it looks in the pictures: clean, spacious, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Tim was an incredible host. He answered our questions very fast and he was extremely friendly. We will stay here again if we find ourselves in Oakland. Thank you, Tim!
