Such a great place! Mr. Ketut & his family are so friendly and kind. As others have said, the room is small, but for the price it is awesome! and it's so clean and aesthetically pleasing. I love the nice warm light in the room. and it stayed surprisingly cool in the room at night! loved just having the fan running w/ no AC needed. Also, there are two little sweet fuzzy kittens that live around the compound and they will visit you if you meow to them (/have kibble for them) Food was great and cheap. Only thing I would note to be prepared for (though not a problem bc the price is so reasonable) is that the walls are very -very thin, sometimes it can sound like your neighbors are right in your room (so bring earplugs) we lucked out the first 10days we were there bc we were the only people. Just us & the kittens! And as someone else mentioned about the hot water -it does run out after about 5mins, but if you turn it off it will come back in about another 10mins -so no luxurious hot showers, but this is not the space for that- if you want that you can go get a villa. Excellent bargain! and we will be back for sure! (Also would recommend renting a motorbike from Mr. Ketut because I feel that it is actually safer than walking (the sidewalk is very uneven & full of random missing panels of sidewalk)
Fujita was very nice and welcoming. All staff were very helpful and welcomed us with smile. Ketut is a very smart guy and gave us some info about activities in Ubud. Our room is awesome for its price. Simple and relaxing. They have common kitchen for everyone who wants to eat or do some work. It has a nice view of the mini garden :) It was very relaxing! For breakfast, they have really tasty Indonesian food compared to other warungs I've been too. The location is very close to main Ubud. I'm glad I picked this place for our 1 week stay! Totally recommended!
Lovely home stay family! Everyone was really nice and helpful. The gado gado dish is delicious - highly recommended! This is a wonderful place to stay but suggest you have some form of transportation into town for its a long walk over uneven terrain.
I had a lovely stay! The family was very accommodating on all levels. My room was very clean and comfortable. The food they prepared for me was delicious and very affordable. They had a push bike for me to hire and easily arranged transportation for me when it was time for me to leave. Thank you so much
M. Ketut and his family was beyond expectations! They take a very good care of the guests, and like to chat and smile!
The room was small but kept very tidy daily. You're in luck if you have quiet guests next door because walls are paper thin.
Banana pancake breakfast was awesome as well as food in general.
M. Ketut kindly gave us important informations and helped us organize our trip to Lovina with his son Wayan.
We loved our stay in Alang Alang and recommend it!
Alang alang house was a lovely home stay ard 3.5km away from Ubud town. Yeah I counted with my GPS watch. Slightly further but it was my choice as I can workout even on my holiday. The water heater was a rather disappointed as the hot water only runs approximately 5 mins every time I use it. On a wet and cold day, this would be a total let down. The wall is thin as paper.
However, I love the day bed outside the room as I spend most of my time there with not much disturbance from mosquitoes. Nyonman and Kerti were lovely family of Mr. Ketut that took care of me during my stay. Just ask them any assistance. They'll be glad to help.
If you do mind the 10km to and fro walk. Just rent a bike. Overall, would recommend this place to anyone. Btw, I was there for a week alone.
Our stay at Alang Alang Guesthouse was perfect from start to finish. Communication prior to arrival was very prompt and professional, and although Mr. Fujita was out of town, Mr. Ketut and his family took excellent care of us. Our room was very clean and cozy, with the outside sitting area being perfect to hang out and enjoy some great food and beers. There is a larger more communal sitting area that is really great for enjoying meals and that we used to do some work on our computer as well. Even though it is a little distance away from the main part of Ubud, we walked it several times, and there are so many shops to investigate on the way that it doesn't feel that far. We also rented a motorbike for two days and explored the town and the countryside, making it as far as Padang Bai. One day, Mr. Ketut took a small group of us driving through the countryside to see the volcano, stopping in at several temples along the way, the rice terraces, and a great organic farm that you can do a free coffee and tea tasting. We were very happy to have found Alang Alang for our first week in Bali, and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Hello! I met with Bali 13 years ago. My first visit made me fall in love with this island.
After that many troubles happened in my life, I was in hopeless.
But always Bali accepted me and gave me a healing light, living energy and hope for future.
Then I become thinking to hope shareing such a charm of the Island with many people.
