Come stay in a historic farmhouse on a working apple orchard, minutes from lively and eclectic Hudson. Enjoy the peace and beauty of the Hudson Valley wandering acres of Macoun, Acey Macs, Empire and Paula Red apple trees right in the center of what makes this part of New York so special!

The space
My partner Mitch and I are enthusiastic travelers and love seeing how life is lived around the world. We look forward to helping create the type of unique travel experiences for you, our guests, that we value ourselves.

The Orchard House was built in the mid 1870s and only passed through a few owners during this time. We recently underwent a year-long renovation to modernize and update the house for today's living while still maintaining the wonderful classic features including the wide plank pine floors and original plaster walls. She is an old house that just needed some new life in it!

Your room, with a king sized bed and en-suite private bath, is located on the second floor that gets beautiful daylight year-round with three large windows facing the west and south. WiFi throughout the house and even outside coverage for relaxing in the hammock in summer. In the Summer and fall, sample apples right off the branch!

We have the house decorated in an eclectic style (I hate to say "farmhouse chic") with a mix of new, antiques, family heirlooms, and finds from our trips around the world. We have a total of three rooms that can be rented in the house. (Please see our other listings)

We have a whippet, Ollie, who is super friendly, but we do try to maintain him away so as not to bother guests. We have chickens at the property as well.

10 minute drive to Warren Street in Hudson / 12 minutes to Amtrak train station

10 minutes to Historic Frederic Church's Historic Olana Site with amazing views of the Hudson River.

20 minutes to Bard College
Short drives to Catskill, Germantown, Tivoli, and Red Hook for great food and drinks as well!

Where you’ll be

Hudson, New York, United States

The house is located on Blue Hill Road (County route 31) just a few miles south of Hudson. The area is known for its rolling hills of orchards (apples, peaches, plumbs, pears, etc.)

The house is located close to the road, as many historic farmhouses are, and there is some road noise during typical commuting hours in the morning or early evening.
The house is set in a working orchard and as such there will be some activity on site. During the spring, summer, and fall you will occasionally see a tractor or men trimming the trees or picking fruit during the days.

Hi I'm David! I love to travel as often as I can and often travel for work. The best places I've been are the ones that make you feel at home and like a local. As a host as well, I always enjoy welcoming others to make themselves at home and enjoy our little slice of Hudson Valley living.

During your stay

David works from home primarily, so when he is not traveling he will be around to greet you and help with any questions you may have about the area. We are not intrusive and respect your privacy and need for quiet time, but also available to hang out or join us for a glass of wine. On weekends you can often find Mitch in the kitchen whipping up some sort of culinary delight. The best part of Airbnb is getting to experience the local life, even for a weekend. We've been welcomed into people's homes from Paris to Istanbul to Bali and want to extend our welcome to those visiting the Hudson Valley.
