A beautiful place in a secluded corner of Lake District, but still very easily accessible from the main roads. The cottage is very specious, really well equipped, lots, of books, games etc, in case you're unlucky with the weather. Communication was perfect, and I'd def stay there again.

We had an amazing stay hiring our both cottages. They are very well equipped and have everything you need and be site is conveniently located. We did several walks nearby and some further afield and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A group of 15 of us had a great stay at both Watermillock and Ivy Cottages. Lovely to be able to open the internal door and link both properties together. Both are very well equipped and the bedrooms are all super - no need to draw straws! Great fun to cook on the Aga. Adjoining camp site has a quirky bar (great for a drink before dinner) and shop for essentials. Plus helpful staff who could advise on walks and other activities in the local area. We would highly recommend a stay!

An amazing set up for a large family gathering (we were there for my Dad's 70th), both cottages together provided loads of space for everyone. The location is fab, and the local pub did great food. Would definitely go again.

The cottages here are great and we had a lovely stay. We were a group of 13 and rented both cottages which are joined by an internal door. There's plenty of space, the living areas are really nice and the bedrooms are good too. It's a great location for plenty of walks. We would recommend bringing spare tea-towels, dish cloths and extra loo roll if you're staying more than a couple of days with a big group of people. The kitchen is well equipped but be sure to bring your own store cupboard essentials - herbs, spices and oils. We'd definitely come back to stay again!

The Quiet User ProfileThe Quiet is a superhost.

The Quiet Site is a family run campsite situated in a secluded position amongst the stunning fells that overlook Lake Ullswater.

This is a superbly maintained and very picturesque site, the facilities being housed mainly in old converted farm buildings.

There are many beautiful walks that you can start from right outside the Quiet Site and numerous activities and attractions a very short drive away.

The site is in an ideal position for touring both the North and South Lakes by car.

We are easily accessible from the M6 motorway - Junction 40 and the charming market town of Penrith, both of which are only 7 miles away.

It's not surprising that 80% of our visitors have stayed with us before!
