The cobbled streets are narrow and winding and random but losing your way will lead you to places you might not otherwise find. Note that the cobblestone (locally called sampietrini) streets have been paved elsewhere in Rome as the vibrations from cars driving over them have been found to lead to cracking in the foundations of many of the monuments and historic sites around the city (and are also dangerous to drivers). The sampietrini are mostly being left alone in Trastevere though.
Trastevere is the 13th rione of Rome, on the west bank of the Tiber, south of Vatican City. Its name comes from the Latin trans Tiberim, meaning literally "beyond the Tiber". The correct pronunciation is [trasˈteːvere], with the accent on the second syllable. Its logo is a golden head of a lion on a red background, the meaning of which is uncertain. To the north, Trastevere borders on to the XIV rione, Borgo.
Nowadays, Trastevere maintains its character thanks to its narrow cobbled streets lined by medieval houses. At night, natives and tourists alike flock to its many pubs and restaurants, but much of the original character of Trastevere remains. The area is also home to several foreign academic institutions including The American University of Rome and John Cabot University (both of which are private American universities), the American Academy in Rome, the Rome campus of the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, the Canadian University of Waterloo School of Architecture (between the months of September and December), and the American Pratt Institute School of Architecture therefore serving as home to an international student body.

Vielen dank marcella! Super gut für ein (junges) Pärchen was Rom besichtigen will! Liebe grüße von Helene (18) und Mike (20)
Thank you very much Marcella! The appartment was in a great area, as soon as you open the door you are in the lively streets of Italy! The appartment was exactly as described and looked like the pictures of the host. Especially the details for example there was oil, an umbrella, a hairdryer and so on... The host even served with some biscuits and cookies as a welcome gift for us. Everything was perfect for a young couple like us who wanted to visit the famous Rome. Many lovely greetings from Mike (20 yrs) and Helene (18yrs).
Marcella's home is not only in the best area of Rome, Trastevere, it is also perfectly comfortable, cozy, bright and overall lovely.
S ubytovaním na Via del Moro v štvrti Trastevere sme boli veľmi spokojní. V byte sa nachádza všetko, čo návštevníci Ríma potrebujú, priestorovo byt taktiež plne vyhovuje. Hostiteľka Marcella bola pred cestou s nami kontakte a poskytla množstvo užitočných rád a informácií.
Marcella was an excellent host who takes care of her guests; she gave us helpful tips for restaurants and places worth seeing. Apartment was clean and comfortable, well located, 15 min walk to Vatican, near Tiber, many great restaurants around. Kitchen was good equipped. The street was a little bit noisy, not too much, but you can expect that in Trastevere witch is known for its nightlife. Rome is beautiful city absolutely worth visiting and I can recommend this apartment for such a trip.
Thanks for Everything,

I'm a lady, I had the pleasure and the opportunity to visit many countries in the world, from Japan to the United States, Australia, Argentina etc. etc. Rome is my city. I am pleased to offer you some accomodations, for me it's important the cleanliness, location, and above all else give all possible assistance to my hosts to feel at ease, and can enjoy a good holiday. I can offer accommodations in other parts of the world, many opportunities on the island of Corfu, I love Greece. All this is also part of my job because I deal with the real estate for a long time. I can not meet all my guests as I would like, sometimes I'm not present just because I'm on the go. But I'm very interested in the exchange of messages and phone calls, e-mails, I'm always ready with suggestions and informations. So apart from the night and when I'm on a plane, it is very very easy to contact me!
While seeing the same world, we see it through different eyes.
