The apartment is located in the trendy Geula Street, off the “Vineyard of the Yemenites” (or “Kerem Hateimamin” in Hebrew) Neighbourhood. The neighbourhood was established in 1909 and it still maintains its original architectural outline. This chic area accommodates diverse restaurants selling typical dishes, ranging from high-end international cuisine to traditional low-budget tasty meals (for example humus and falafel kiosks). The numerous bars around attract local artists and bohemians just as much as they invite clubbers and younger crowds. Nearby is the “Carmel Market”, Tel Aviv’s famous open air market, locally known as “the Shuk” (the souk). Here you will find anything you need, from a variety of fresh fish, vegetables and meat products through trendy cafés to old-time establishments that serve ice-cold Israeli draft beer. Down Geula Street, exactly three minutes away from the apartment, is the stunning Geula Beach. In this wide sandy beach you can sunbath, swim in the Mediterranean Sea, play volleyball, futevole, and 'matkot' (Israelis favourite beach sport - two players, two wooden racquets and a small ball), or take wave-surfing and kite-surfing lessons in the local surf club.
Geula Street crosses Alenby Street, which is one of the main transportation hubs of Tel Aviv. This central location allows for easy access everywhere in Tel Aviv:
Buses: Most of Tel Aviv’s bus routes stop on Alenby Street and they reach literally all parts of the city. Main Bus lines are: (phone number hidden), and 11.
Taxis: Just swing your hand and one of the numerous taxis that drive around will stop instantly. You can also save money and take the local “sherut” taxi – a shared shuttle van working 24/7 along the main bus line routes.
Parking: you will find a low rate parking lot on our street, just one block from the apartment.
Bicycles: Recommended as the best way to explore Tel Aviv, we rent out bicycles for our guests on demand. *Please inquire when you book the room*.
You can also just walk around and enjoy the city by foot.
Just relax, enjoy your vacation, and have fun ☺
The apartment is perfect located - definitely 3min to beach and city and in a cool area. It's a 5-room-flat, where every room is for rent. So you can meet nice people, if you want. All the rooms are artfully decorated and clean. Moshe is friendly and helpful. For example I asked him for a mirror for my room and he brought one. The only drawback - the aircon in the bathrooms are noisy. If someone use the room, you can hear it. This can annoy in the night or early morning. So I recommend earplug and can also recommend this place!
The site description is a 100% accurate, you get what pay for. Then, Moshe is a great host, helpful and a quite cool character as well. The area could not be better both if you are either working or just relaxing. Highly recommendable.
If you stay here, come for the location, but not much else. We had a not so great experience with Moshe. I emailed about a day before arrival asking what the arrangement was for getting the key, etc. and didn't hear anything in response. Since there are directions to pick up a key from a mailbox, we went, but didn't see a key with our name. I called Moshe several times and finally heard back about twenty minutes later, and he had forgotten about our reservation. His girlfriend rushed over to "clean" the apartment and put clean sheets on the bed. He didn't even really apologize and when I asked about a later checkout he was completely non accommodating. On top of everything the apartment was really not much to write home about. The location though is great.
Moshe was very helpful with the description of getting to the apartment and back to the airport. Also the handing over of the keys went very well. We stayed at the carmel room, which was clean and nicely decorated. the sleeping area in the loft bed is cosy, though quite noisy because you can hear the ventilation of the two bathrooms when other people use it. and that gets me to the last point: we expected having booked a private apartment and were quite surprised by finding out that we had to share two bathrooms with guests of the three other rooms, which is not a problem in general but should be made clear from the beginning. so all in all it was not exactly what we expected, but if you are looking for a nice, not too luxurious place to stay in a good area, i can recommend Moshe's apartment.
the area where the place is located is not apleasent one.
the entrance and the cleaning of the corredor is very dirty.
the owner said that it is because of the wind and thhe vecinity to the beach, but he can and should clean it more often.
the slope of the letter is so stip that my cusine was not able to bring herself down. the owner set an extra bed downstairs to aliviate the situation but still it was problematic.
the hight of the gallery is small and you cannot stand.
the place may be good for young people but only just for them.
Dear Dani .. you was never actually in the apartment , i find it odd that you write a review .. as for your complaint... your cosine texted me after my phone with you and i will quote " i don't know why he said that! we are great here! "
so please contact the guests that actually stayed here for there feedback ...
they actually called me to meet them before they left to say thank you and good bye ....
Description corresponds quite well to the room. It is very cute and welcoming. There are two shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen which are cleaned every day. The whole appartment is sublet. I really liked the decoration and the bed in the mezzanine.
The location is amazing as it is so close to the beach. The neighbourhood is safe and couldnt be more central. The only negative point is that the flat isnt very well isolated
I didnt get to meet Moshe but he was very helpful and friendly in giving us a free late checkout. Also everything is very well organized for key pick-up which was highly appreciated.
