This 3rd floor, 3 BR beachfront flat looks out over dunes and the Pacific, with a big view of the ocean and the mountains of Marin. Big roof deck, lots of skylights. It's two blocks from Golden Gate Park and a half a block from the streetcar.
A gracious, airy flat that looks out on grassy dunes and ocean, with lots of comfortable spaces to lounge around in. A warm nook on the roof shelters you from the elements. The master bedroom and bathroom have a zen feel, calming and restful. There are two queen beds and one full bed.

It was incredibly easy working with Kevin, and he fully accommodated us and everything we needed for our trip to San Francisco. The house is absolutely gorgeous, and has a real charm to it. The view of the ocean is beautiful, and the neighborhood has plenty of fun restaurants and small shops. I recommend you try the Java Cafe, as it's coffee and small plates are delicious. Overall, I couldn't have had a better experience with Kevin or his beautiful home and I highly recommend!
Great Outer Sunset beach home. Well worth the travel time to/from the city. Enough space for 6 comfortably. And a fantastic roof deck with beach views.
Kevin's place felt like a home from home. Apart from being spacious, and full of subtle personal touches, It had everything we wanted, including an outdoor roof-space with wonderful views. Parking was not too difficult despite there not being a garage whilst being close enough to the city and yet still a cross between a beach home and an elegant apartment . Kevin was incredibly helpful in every way and made our visit an easy and enjoyable experience for all of us.
Kevin you have a beautiful and welcoming home. The house was tidy and everything was left ready for a visitor to arrive. I also felt welcomed by the invitation to "anything in the kitchen". That was very nice.
This place has one of the best views in the entire city !
The neighborhood was very safe.
We had a wonderful one week stay at Kevin's place. This was our first airbnb experience and it was great. Kevin's home is the kind of place I'd like to stay in where ever we go and I wish we could pick it up and take it with us. Plenty of room for my family of four with roomy bedrooms and two bathrooms. The place is nicely
decorated in a contemporary, eclectic, yet very comfortable way. Very welcoming, with lots of natural light. We felt very at home staying here even while trying to be mindful that we were in someone else's home and there are apartments below.
While I have nothing negative to say about Kevin's place itself, we aren't sure if we would return to that location in town. Being landlocked in the Midwest, we wanted to be near the ocean during our stay. But staying in Outer Sunset can mean a chunk of your day is spent traveling into downtown if your goal is to see San Francisco's typical sights. After time is spent on beach walks and in the Golden Gate Park (which is a couple blocks away) you'll have to spend some time on the muni (20 to 40 minutes) to get to most of the usual destinations or to the BART and ferries that take you to the spots beyond. And then you have to spend that much time on your return trip at the end of the day. It wasn't until the end of our stay that we started to notice how much time we spent traveling back and forth, but it wasn't really that bad . The nice thing about Kevin's location is that the Muni stop is half a block from his place and it's the end of the line. So you get up in the morning and you are the first ones on (you get to sit down.) Another thing that is nice about the Outer Sunset area is that it's quiet. It's not the most vibrant area of town but that ok, we slept great with the lack of street noise. There is a natural foods co-op a few blocks away as well as some good restaurants.
Overall an excellent experience and Kevin was great to work with. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! It was so relaxing to come home to after a day of sightseeing. Our family of 5 (kids ages 18, 15, 12) were very comfortable there with 3 separate bedrooms all with full or queens in them, so plenty of bed space. The youngest found the "eagle's nest" and claimed it as his own (it's a kid-sized ledge just inside the sliding doors on the rooftop patio).
Kevin was out of town at the time, but we had all the info we needed for getting settled. We communicated a couple times by text just confirming that all was ok, and that was perfect for us.
The kitchen was well stocked, the apt was very clean; we didn't need to go out for paper products or anything. The apartment is on the third floor so it's not handicap accessible. Also, there is a spiral staircase up to the rooftop patio - it's a terrific feature but just a heads up if you have a toddler who might think it's their personal gym:)
The neighborhood is safe and clean; lots of people out running and just walking on the beach. The Muni streetcar is half a block away and makes it easy to get around.
There's a wonderful Java shop at the corner that makes awesome sandwiches, salads, and of course coffee. I did very little cooking (it was my vacation, too!) so we brought food from that shop back to the apt to eat at the dining room table and watch the sun set over the ocean.
There was no TV. This was perfect for us because we didn't have to fight with our teenagers about "unplugging" for the visit - they didn't have a choice! Of course, we brought a laptop and used it to find Muni schedules and restaurant menus.
All in all, an awesome long weekend in a lovely apartment with drop dead scenery! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kevin's apartment to anyone visiting San Francisco!
This place was amazing. My family and I had a great time and slept comfortably in his cozy beach home. I even slept one night in the upstairs patio nook to wake up with the beach. SF was extremely cold and windy so we unfortunately didn't make use of the beach but we were right beside Golden Gate Park and blocks away from coffee/bars/food. We always found parking, but it was typically crowded in the evening. but be aware: there is no TV. It was the 'critic' statement made by my my city slicker parents and siblings :) hehe. I would highly recommend Kevin's apt.
I am a surfer, physician, and the director of a foundation working to combat poverty in Africa and Asia. I've lived on San Francisco's Ocean Beach for many years, and I love the way this area is blooming, with new restaurants, shops and a vibrant surf/art culture. I travel a lot internationally as part of my job; I have a house that I love and I like to share it with others who will appreciate it when I can't be there.
