Sharon and Mitch were great hosts. They have a great accommodation for a great price. We were able to see the West and South shore of the island very easy from their location.
Sharon and Mitch were so kind. Their home includes everything you could need and they have it divided up very nicely. A very beautiful location in the valley. We played music together and also enjoyed the ping pong table. We woke up early and hiked into the canyon from their home. Very close to the trail head. Made some good friends here and look forward to staying with them again. Mahalo to you both. Oh and David, keep on rocking in the free world.
We had a wonderful experience at Sharon and Mitch's place. They were great hosts, the room was clean and we had everything we needed for our stay.
We had a wonderful time at Sharon and Mitch's beautiful Waimea home! Everything from the house, scenery, fresh fruits and veggies, advice on hiking/exploring, etc was amazing! Very nice people and VERY beautiful home!
Great Experience! We were celebrating our marriage with a dream trip to the Garden Island. We were not disappointed. Sharon and Mitch's place is located away from the bigger towns on the Island but it is exactly the calm we were looking for after the hectic planning of a wedding. Woke up every morning to the birds singing, and the roosters crowing! We didn't meet Mitch or Sharon, but David got us settled in just fine.
We were not your normal outgoing AirBnB couple on this trip, and that was completely ok with David. He gave us space to enjoy the quiet calm. Great Experience and would highly recommend this affordable stay away from all the touristy areas.
What a fabulous place! It's a stunning house in a great location, with all the amenities one could need. David, the housekeeper, was flexible, helpful, knowledgeable, and incredibly gracious. Stay here when you come to Waimea - you won't regret it!
We came to the wonderful home of Mitch and Sharon at 11 PM, and were very pleased to find a comfy bed after long travel. The room was very nice. David, our new friend, who was looking after the house in the absence of Mitch and Sharon, was of great help! He told us where are the nice restaurants to dine and what kind of outdoor activities we can get into. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Waimea Canyon Hideaway!

I have put a room in my house in airbnb and here is what I like of my guests. I am also this kind of guest.
I like a guest that wants to explore on their own. If time allows I like to hike with you. Frequently I am very busy so it is important that guests are independent and want to go and explore on their own.
A guest at my house will be self directed. I have a full time career and will not be able to show you around. However I am very social and look forward to meeting you.
Staying here will be similar to staying at a hostel in that you are self directed, make your own plans, do your own thing and clean up after yourself. The only exception is that the accommodations are nicer. My house is clean but, I do work full time so I keep my prices low and my rooms livable. If you like immaculate places where you are waited on, this is not the place for you.
