You would need your own transport while staying here.

We would expect that you leave the house as you find it.

Carmel was the best host anyone could have. She received us with lots of nice christmas details and even though it was christmas she made everything to make our stay special and unique. She showed the animals to our little ones and made it a great fun moment out of it.
We were a group of four women that stayed in Carmel's beautiful home. We were greeted with a huge warm and welcoming. Carmel is awesome. She is so friendly and accommodating. The bedrooms are large and each has its own bathroom. For four women that's an A+! The house was clean. The atmosphere was pleasant. There isn't anything bad I can say about our stay at Carmel's. It was a wonderful stay! Wish we could have stayed longer than one night. I highly recommend to anyone that plans to stay in the Mullingar area.
We had a great time, house was clean and very well presented. Beautiful area and only a few minutes drive from the town. The kids loved feeding the horses. Carmel was very responsive and welcoming.
We had a FANTASTIC time when visiting Carmel at Conkill House !!
Our initial plans where to visit the former home of Niall Horan (from One Direction) in Mullingar – on request from our 13-year-old daughter ☺
But meeting Carmel and staying in her wonderful Bed & Breakfast with gorgeous rooms, great facilities and splendid surroundings became the memory I will cherish in the future.
Carmel was a SUPERB host for my family and me. When having some GPS troubles finding Clonkill House, Carmel drove down to meet us in Mullingar – all dressed up –since it was the evening before a banking holiday and she was going out. Carmel took time to give us a thorough introduction to the house and facilities – and she had prepared great rooms for us.
Furthermore Carmel left us a nice handwritten welcome letter with recommendations to restaurants and places to see in and around Mullingar.
Next morning Carmel gave us all a tour around the property to see her animals. Our kids got to feed the horses, the hens and pet the dogs.
My only regret was that we only stayed for one day ☺
We can definitely RECOMMEND staying at Carmel and enjoying the kind atmosphere and sights in the area. Be sure to plan for more than one night!
We have just returned from a great weekend at Carmels wonderful home. We had 6 adults and 3 kids staying and had ample room for everyone! All the bedrooms were very clean and all had a separate ensuite with a shower which was lovely! Carmel had fresh towels on the bed and a sweet on the pillow which we thought was a lovely touch! from the moment we entered the gates to Carmels we were made feel at home. we all had a wonderful time and are already planning our next stay :)
This stay was so fabulous that I was very sad to only have one day here. Carmel is an instant best friend and I could have sat talking with her for hours. She was so nice to the children and when you ask my daughter what her very favorite thing about Ireland was her answer is "the puppies!" We had 6 people and the house had more than enough room for all of us. Each room is very spacious and decorated so lovely. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. From the treats on the pillows to the magazines in the TV room, Carmel has so many extra little touches that give this house an A+ from us. Thank you so much for the fabulous stay. We truly enjoyed ourselves.
Carmel's in the running for one of Ireland's friendliest people. The property is fantastic, and made more memorable with her prizewinning Connemara horses, dogs, cats and cute kids. We originally thought Mullingar would be a sleepy village but there were great places to eat and grab a pint. A great stay!
