The Space

Our philosophy is to be as normal as possible, open, friendly, easy going....showing the guests our surroundings from a local point of view....

The house is a mixture of old, new and comfortable ..... just as we are , old fashioned in a modern world:)

We like it simple and natural, our house is not a luxury hotel, but 5 stars cosy, welcoming and friendly. The attic is a cosy space, where in winter we use traditional heating with wood. Our 5 stars MATRESSES :) and a double BED are very comfortable

So we have 1 double BED, 1 "pull out" couch, 2 double mattresses and 2 single ones , a hammock and 3 couches:)..... you might not see them in the pictures, but they are behind the oven and the couch.

*** UPDATE: Since a few weeks we even have more light and space due to a glass construction that allows you to enjoy an amazing mountain view directly from the attic!! ***********************************************************************

By the way, what we offer is NOT an appartment! but a room in our house.Bathroom and kitchen ARE SHARED! your room (the attic) would be on the 2nd floor and the bathroom on the groundfloor, so you will get fitter and fitter:)

We are located in WALS, on the border with Germany....so NOT IN the city center, but just at the outskirts of Salzburg. If you are coming BY CAR you are in 15' in the center of Salzburg. BY BUS it will take u around 25'.

Its a perfect place to stay if you come for the " Salzburger FESTSPIELE" (cultural event) or OKTOBER FEST in Münich. Wals bei Salzburg ist 1h30min. away from Münich either by car or by train.

.....and not only:) if you want to visit the surroundings of Salzburg or go skiing in winter we are 1' away from the highway in all directions. Next skiing resort is less than one hour from here, big ones like Flachau / Zauchensee 1hr 15min.

Last but not least, after contacting us PLEASE stay sincere and let us know if our offer is attractive to you or not :)

  • Carmela was a great host and gave us a lot of tips and suggestions. The rooms were good and comfortable and very clean. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your house!

  • Carmela was the consummate hostess! She had the fire ready in our room for our arrival (as well as every time we came back from the city), breakfast ready every morning when we came down, and gave us the scoop on what to do in Salzburg during our trip. The upstairs was warm and cozy with tons of natural light. We woke up every morning to the awesome view of the mountains nearby. She even told us about the nearby thermal baths that were an excellent addition to our itinerary. We would absolutely stay at her house again.

  • We had a fantastic stay with Carmela and her family. The space is absolutely beautiful, and the view is stunning. She was a fantastic host and breakfast was great. Carmela did everything she could to make our stay there the best it can be. We highly recommend her place to anyone. With a family, it was really perfect! :)

  • The attick was really cozy, spacious and clean. Carmela is very resourceful. She provided all touring information about Salzburg and its neighbouring area. We started our tour as she recommended and our family was very happy and satisfied her recommendation. Her welcoming was warm enough not to make any strange with each other. As soon as we arrived the place, we started talking about various thing as if we had known for long time. I highly and strongly recommend her attick especially to those people travelling with family. My son still remembers and talks about Carmela's baby boy, who is also very friendly and cute!!

  • Gorgeous loft space in shared house was a wonderful retreat for our family while in Salzburg. Carmela was away at the time of our stay and went to great lengths to open her home to us. We found the loft spacious and very comfortable and the view from the verandah was breathtaking! Carmela's communication with us was prompt and very informative.

  • Carmela is a great host! She really saved our stay in Salzburg as we arrived at 10pm, seven hours delayed and with lost luggage. Carmela provided us the neccesarities, organised something for us to eat and made us feel very welcome.

The room is very clean and cosy. Beds are comfortable and there was more than enough space for the four of us.

Carmelas breakfast was super. She was really eager to make it the way we wished.

We recommend staying at Carmelas place.

  • I just came back home yesterday. And can not wait to share my experience during our stay in Carmela's place. Her house is exactly the same as the photo shows and the environment is great either in door in the rooms or downstairs in the yard. Everything in Carmela's kitchen is ready for her guest to use, all we need to do is to discouver. Easy and puntucal bus commute makes the stay quite comfortable from down town. Four of us enjoy our stay very much. We were so lucky to see the sun set on the belcony.

Carmela is very nice and helpful, she is willing to provide any information you need. I will definitely come bacl again to her place if I or my friends to again to Salzburg.

All the best to Carnela and her family.

  • Carmela is a sweet, lovely, and helpful host who helped to make our stay in Salzburg really comfortable. She gave us plenty of advice about sights to visit and how to get around etc, and was also great to talk to on a personal level.

Our room was gorgeously furnished with art decor and comfortable bedding, and sanitation levels were top-notch too! We especially loved the hammock ;)

The only drawback of the room/house would be its distance from the city centre - about 25 minutes by bus.

All in all, we really, really enjoyed our stay at Carmela's house. (:

Sport- und Tennislehrer
Teaching tennis and sports to kids, taking care of them as a pedagogue"after school" are my work, passion and freedom:) After improving my German language at the University of Salzburg,i also got my bachelor degree in Sport Science. He is a scientist teaching at the University of Salzburg and as a “break” from science he is also working as a psychotherapist. So don’t be surprised that when you will be staying with us you won’t really see him, because he will wake up after breakfast and come home after dinner:) Apart from the serious work stuff, we enjoy life as much as possible, especially by travelling to the South or at least somewhere where there isn't too much snow. We are the backpacker type of tourists, like it easy and simple...being more interested in knowing “real life” and not the “touristic illusions”, meeting the locals or interesting people that are crossing our way....and Nathan our son (born in 2012) is accompanying us not only on all these trips, but also on the beautiful journey of life:) Besides travelling, sports like: tennis, skiing, deep work, Zumba are another way to keep us active and in shape. We prefer to watch sport events on TV – football, formula 1, skiing, tennis, documentaries etc.
