Enjoy the charms and character of Savannah's Historic district while returning to the comforts of a modern home furnished and decorated with antiques. This is also a convenient location if you are traveling on I-95 and want an easy on-off stopover in the Savannah area!
The main guest room (this listing) features a double bed with Beautyrest mattress, 1000 ct. cotton sheets, comforter, extra blankets and exterior door to back patio.
A second guest room with a twin bed is located next to this room and is also available. It is also $45/night. If you're interested in both rooms please mention in the inquiry so I can adjust the pricing accordingly to reflect booking both rooms.
A bath private for the guest rooms is just down the hall. Bath linens and toiletries are provided.
If you're looking for a private bath option, I also have another listing with an attached private bath.
Maps of historic district and tour guidebooks are available for your use. Enjoy coffee or tea in the morning. Due to my work schedule I cannot always guarantee that I'll be able to offer something homemade for breakfast but can at least offer toast & jam.
Winter evenings will have you warming up to the glow of a fire in the wood-burning fireplace of the family room.
This is a pet-free home. As much as I enjoy dogs myself, I must potlitely decline hosting guests with pets in order to keep my home comfortable for those with pet allergies.
Located in a new neighborhood near the intersection of I-95 and I-16 in the neighboring community of Pooler, GA the home backs up to a quiet wooded area. You're just 15 minutes straight down I-16 to Savannah's National Historic Landmark district. Stroll the squares, visit Forsyth Park, enjoy the architecture, food, and history of Savannah.
Your host is a professional chef and director of a personal enrichment cooking school in Savannah's historic district. If you enjoy great food you might consider registering for a hands-on cooking class where you can enjoy everything from learning the background influences of Low Country Cuisine to seasonal brunches, techniques for baking, and many other tasty topics! Private cooking classes are available here in my home on my days off which are usually Sunday & Monday. Please inquire if you are interested. It is not necessary to stay with me in order to participate in a private hands-on class.
Please note that due to my work schedule it is best to make a request or inquiry at least 48 hours in advance. Requests made for the same day may not be received in time to respond.
So glad we found this home. Darin was a nice host, as were the other guests. Pooler is much preferred to savannah for sleeping -- no problem with parking or noise either. Fifteen miles from the historic area. Definitely would return.
The reservation was canceled 161 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Darin is a great host and provides everything you need and much more. Darin was so kind, loving, sweet and so eager to make our stay comfortable.
He happened to be serving Thanksgiving dinner to his associates the evening we arrived and we were ever so lucky to have been invited to join them. We are reluctant ito mention how fabulous the meal was as it certainly isn't a regular occurence for guests. But it was the most amazing Thanksgiving meal ever. Darin is a prominent Chef in Savannah and so he prepared an over-the-top experience.
Actually, we read that Darin's cooking classes are the #1 popular thing to do in the Savannah area. That's not just our validation . . . it's Trip Advisors #1 rating.
Darin's house, appointed so well, is such a joy to stay in and is just a 10 minute drive to the downtown area. It's convenient to a ton of shopping in his neighborhood as well.
Darin's place has an amazing spaciousness and brightness . It's located in a quiet street in a safe and friendly neighborhood. His place is so very nice, clean and comfortable!
We are most grateful to Darin and highly recommend his place, should you be in the area. We can not recommend it highly enough! You will certainly not regret it! We will definitely be telling all of our friends about Darin's place.
We stayed for two days, and we felt welcome from the start to the end. It was something we would do again if we are going back to Savannah.
Darin's place is amazing and he is a very nice guy! I spent only one night, but I can definitely recommend this place! 10 out of 10 for me
This was our first airbnb experience, so we were a little nervous. But Darin was very hospitable, and the room was clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.
Darin is an excellent host and his home is very comfortable. I was able to stop by and see the room prior to my stay, and I knew that it would be a great place. With a beautiful backyard, big windows, very comfortable bed in a very nice, well-furnished room. The shared bathroom was never an issue and it was perfect. I was even fortunate enough to take one of Darin's cooking classes and I was extremely grateful for the opportunity. He's an excellent teacher in addition to host. Would recommend without any hesitation!
Not enough words to say thank you! Thanks to share a great and beautiful house, to help and let us in a cocooning atmosphere for restful vacations!
It was too short but a great experience!
Staying at Darin's home was my first Airbnb experience, and it couldn't have been better. The guest room was well-appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the house was spacious and pleasant. I felt completely at home!
Darin's was both hospitable and informative. I was only in Savannah for a short stay and wanted to maximize my time seeing everything I could. Darin was great at providing me with recommendations, maps, and visitor materials.
One great perk was that Darin is a chef/culinary instructor in Savannah. As luck would have it, the day I arrived, he was conducting a "hands-on" workshop on Low-Country cuisine, which I opted to take. It was brilliant! I learned a great deal about the history and preparation of regional dishes and basic culinary techniques. To top it off, the entire class feasted on the delicious, Low Country meal we made during the workshop.
I would most definitely recommend both Darin's accommodations and classes to anyone visiting Savannah.
We were in and out and never even saw anyone. But Darin left a key for us and a lovely room as well as coffee and yogurt in the morning! It was perfect and we appreciate it!.
