About this listing
Spacious and cool villa with double veranda overlooking surrounding hills. On the outskirts of a quiet and peaceful village just 25 km's outside Kumasi.
The house contains a spacious living room, a large kitchen with dining space and outside terrace. The terrace is coolly shaded with grapes.
There is a broad verandah at the front of the house, both downstairs and upstairs. Upstairs are three bedrooms for rent, each with a double bed. (A fourth bedroom is kept for our privacy.)
Two bedrooms have large wardrobes. One bedroom is self contained (toilet and warm bath). Additionally there is a large bathroom with toilet, shower and bath.
The house was built a few years ago and is in an excellent condition. There is electricity to provide for light, fans, warm water etc. There is a large borehole from which water is pumped electrically. The quality of the water has been approved by the water company. However it is ill adviced to drink it uncooked, when you are from abroad.
The kitchen has a fridge, stove, oven, microwave and all the other necessary kitchen utensils.
All the doors have safety locks and iron bars on the inside. The windows are barred with high quality materials and are covered with mosquito nettings.
You may find space and privacy here, since the house is situated at the outskirts of the village. The entrance is at a small sideroad of the main village street.
The compound covers almost 2.000 square metres. In front of the house is a garden with all kinds of trees and flowers, like bougainvillea, weeping willow, orange, mango, etcetera.
At the side of the house is a grape covered terrace.
The whole house except for one bedroom that contains our personal belongings.
Interaction with Guests
There is a self-contained quarter for our caretaker. This quarter has it's own entrance. He will be more than willing to help you out on house issues, although extra chores are not included in the rent.
The village lies south east of Kumasi, in the heart of the Ashanti area. Therefore it is an excellent point of departure for the many trips you will find in travel guides. Since most people are pleasant and transport is easy, you can also just roam around and see what you encounter.
Kumasi seems far away when you are in the village, yet you drive to the KNUST university within twenty minutes and to the city centre within just half an hour.
Other Things to Note
If you stay with just one or two persons, or want to stay for a longer period, the price is negotiable.
Please bear in mind that the village has a christian community where we like to fit in, therefore please act appropriately.
