The stay went well. Eric and his wife were very accommodating and prompt to respond to any questions I had. The room was as described. Everything was very clean and organized.
We rented this this apartment for 6 weeks in April/May. The hosts were awesome, so accommodating for our very late check-in and very early check-out and very accessible and responsive. The apartment (one in a small complex of 4 units) is perfect for 1 or 2 people. The bed and living room furniture are all very comfortable and the decor is nice. This is clearly a place the owners put time and thought into, didn't just throw together with extra furnishings. The kitchen was perfectly outfitted for all the cooking I did during my stay. It truly felt like a home away from home and I was sad to leave. The location is great - close to grocery shopping, easy access to downtown, the University, and Highway 10. My favorite thing was opening the front door in the morning and listening to all the birds that hang out in the yard. This was my first AirBNB experience and thankfully it was fantastic.
We have never had more responsive or gracious hosts than Eric and Cathy. They met our every need and were always easy to reach. The house was even nicer than we thought it would be. Very clean and had all the necessities.
The neighborhood was centrally located and just right for us. Nice neighbors.
This rental was worth every penny and more. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Desert Willows, thanks to the accommodations Eric and Cathie provided us. We used to live in Tucson, and enjoyed being in a neighborhood instead of a hotel. This unit was convenient to everything, spacious and modern. No detail was overlooked, including a welcome package of goodies, and quarters for laundry should we need to wash clothes. We felt completely at home, and wished we had more time to stay to enjoy all the amenities and the fabulous mountain views. We would return to Desert Willows in a heartbeat!
Cathie and Eric are the nicest AirBnB hosts we've ever had. From the Whole Foods welcome meal in the fridge to restaurant ideas per text, in myriad little details they made our four-day stay very relaxing and enjoyable. The neighborhood is quiet and central, and the apartment itself is perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped and then some, the bed super comfortable and the front porch was great for relaxing after a hike or a day at the gem show. Thank you so much. We hope to return soon.
We will be back. The apt was clean, neat, updated and modern.
Eric stocked it well for guest. The kitchen had all needed appliances and the bed was very comfortable.
The neighborhood was quite and centrally located.
The car parking space was well lighted and safe.
We found the neighbor/ caretaker friendly and helpful and Eric was only a phone call away.
He had great recommendations for restaurants and even left a bike map for us.
A real plus. He knew we were bikers.
Thx Eric Joanne and Larry
Desert Willows was a delight. The apartment was immaculate, tastefully decorated and tranquil. Eric was so accommodating and very easy to communicate with.
The apartment is 2 blocks from a major thorough fare, and as Tucson is very spread out, convenient to get to and from. It is located in a neighborhood on a quiet street. There is a Starbucks less then one mile away, and a locally owned health food store nearby, cooking was a pleasure in the small efficient well stocked kitchen. I would stay again. Thank you Eric.
About the Host, Eric
My favorite destination in the world is Moran State Park, on Orcas Island in Washington State. I first started going with my best friend and his family when I was in 6th grade. I am never more relaxed and happy than when I am hiking, fishing in Cascade Lake, or just gazing at the various water views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. My most memorable vacation was a three week tour of South Africa which included Zimbabwe and Botswana with my 86 year old uncle. I am now fascinated with elephants because they seem so intelligent and the mothers are so attentive to their calves.
We are looking forward to having you as our guest. We would like to share our beautiful city of Tucson with you. The winter weather is spectacular and the views are incredible. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, this is the place for you. 9100' Mount Lemmon is 1 hour and 20 minutes away with many hiking trails and a ski lift. Many world class triathletes train here. The Desert Museum is a must see as are Kartchner Caverns and Old Tucson. And don't forget the Gem and Mineral show in February and the Tucson Festival of Books in March, two events that attract people from all over the world.
Hope to see you soon.
