Beautiful, couzy and fully refurbished apartment in lavapies, a very exciting neighborhood of Madrid, the place is perfect for 2. people, very lighted and all commodities. 2 min To the metro, very quite at night.
Grocery stores, fresh food markets, cafes and other amenities within walking distance. Around the corner from the Reina Sofia museum, a short walk to the Prado museum and the Retiro park. Situated in the Lavapies, an amazing mutli-cultural and multi-generational neighborhood that is home to a number of great Senegalese, Indian as well as Spanish restaurants. Lavapies is host to a number of art galleries and independent arts organizations such as La Casa Encendida and La Tabacalera. La Tabacalera, an abandoned tobacco factory, has a DIY bike workshop, skate park, art gallery, community garden and DJ collective which spins on Sunday afternoons throughout the year. If you are interested in contemporary art, music and a vibrant community atmosphere then this is the neighborhood for you.
Something came up and Sergio had to have work done in the apartment we were going to stay in, but he found us another place nearby and took us out for drinks and tapas to make up for it. Sergio is a really nice guy and our stay was great!
Sergio is a nice guy. The flat is good for 2 or 3 personnes and very clean. The cosy loft is near the Lavapies tube station (1 min) and Carrefour Market but to the 4th level. I recommend.
Nice place, close to the Subway, easy access to/ from the airport.Thank you Sergio.
Sergio's place is very close to the metro station. The place is very well equiped and is clean. Sergio is also a very nice person who helped us a lot during our stay at Madrid! Highly recommended!
Sergio was a super nice and accommodating host for my dad and I in Madrid. I needed to get a pair of jeans fixed and he suggested an excellent tailor down the street for me, which saved me the hassle of looking myself. As for the apartment itself, it really is in an excellent central location--a short walk to Reina Sofia, Atocha Station, and the Plaza del Sol. The only hiccup we had was an issue with the shower: apparently the woman downstairs said water was leaking into the apartment! To Sergio's credit, he contacted her and the day we left he was having a plumber come in to fix the problem.
We had a great time staying in Sergio's apartment. He was very flexible and kind, and the place was pretty centrally located so it was really easy to get around. We would recommend Sergio to our friends and we look forward to coming to Madrid again.
Sergio was a great host and the apartment is everything the pictures portray. It's a lovely apartment for 3 people. Maybe too small for many more staying more than a few night but for 3 friends staying over New Years it was perfect! Would definitely return. Location is great! Right near SOL station and the main square.
Sergio's apartment was not hard to find. Sergio was waiting for us when we arrived. The apartment is located on the 4th floor. My cousin and I are backpackers so it was easy for us to get up there but it was still a workout, I can imagine how people with rolling luggage could have more issues.
The apartment was very nice, as in the pictures. Since we went in December, it was cold but Sergio had a gas heater that we used when we were in the apartment (turn off at night though). Wifi works well in the living room (activate it at the kitchen table, then you can move around in the living room no problem and even up to the bedroom).
The only thing I didn't like too much was the duration of the hot water. Sergio had warned us that he had electric heating for the water so my cousin and I showered one at night and the other in the morning to be sure that one doesn't get cold water, but even then, hot water lasted only 5 minutes. I have long, thick hair so no way I could of washed my hair in such a short time. It was also very cold when we went so you felt more the need to take a hot shower, I'm sure in summer it's not so bad.
We used the kitchen on our second night. It is small but has everything that you needed.
Location was great. We bought groceries and snacks at a little store 1 minutes from the place. During the day, we walked everywhere and had no issues finding our way back.
Sergio was great! I wrote to him by email a few times during our stay and he replied very fast. We planned to go for drinks with Sergio the second night but we didn't feel well and had to cancel. He also called a cab for us for 5am on the 3rd day since we needed to be at the airport for 7am.
