Little Cabin in the Woods was the perfect getaway for our family! We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was absolutely perfect. We were thrilled to find such a great cabin that was pet friendly as well (including a fenced in back yard). Larry was fantastic and even came to the cabin and gave us several ideas for hikes and things to do in the area with our kids. We enjoyed the beautiful cabin, the seclusion, and our host. We also really appreciated all of the extras, like the pool table, books, DVDs, and board games. Our kids didn't have a single bored moment in four days. You can't go wrong with this property!
Great cabin! Unlike many cabins in Blue Ridge, Larry's place is tucked far enough into the woods to actually feel secluded from neighbors. Very dog friendly with a fenced in back yard. Close to waterfalls, hiking trails, and downtown blue ridge. We had a great time playing pool and air hockey in the lower level of the cabin and making s'mores in the fire pit out back. Overall, it was a great, clean place to stay!
Nice Larry helped us get our small camper parked near the cabin and left us to getting moved in.
During our stay he was always available for questions.
The cabin was everything we expected. A very nice quiet setting with town not far away.
The host had everything ready for us and even came by to make sure everything was good. The listing was exactly as described and the neighborhood was quiet. Great place to relax. Beautiful cabin extremely well kept. Would definitely want to return
The cabin was just as the photos presented it, warm and cozy with all the comforts we wanted. The area was quiet and tucked away, yet close enough for sightseeing in the surrounding areas.
The pictures (which are amazing) somehow don't do it justice. My husband and I were amazed at how spacious the cabin was...and so comfortable. We brought our two dogs who had a back yard to play in...thank goodness for Larry's because that is a rarity. And the trail down to the creek was the perfect dog-walk! I can't a imagine a better place in the area (which is also gorgeous).
This was an amazing place to stay. An awesome back porch with a handmade rocking chair (made by the owner Larry) was my husbands favorite place. We took a hike down the trail right out the back to a babbling brook. Larry was available but since we didn't need him he left us to have our own fun! We had fun hiking, whitewater rafting and zip lining in the area. We are will be back!
Cabin owner Larry Dumas, a retired Navy Chief and Orange Park FL firefighter, volunteers with the Benton-MacKaye Trail Association and is an avid hiker on both the Benton-MacKaye and the Appalachian Trail. I know all the area's best hiking trails and other local information. We built this cabin in the woods to be both away from the hustle and bustle of city life and near all the things we love to do including hiking, horseback riding, nature photography and just enjoying the great outdoors.
