Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
A beautiful 115+ year old historic home in the Montford neighborhood. This historic neighborhood is peaceful, yet only a short walk to all the great activities downtown. We are a 3 block walk from Harrah’s Center and a 5 minute drive to UNCA, the River Arts District, Salvation Station and much more. The Biltmore Estate and Village, as well as Grove Park Inn, are less than a 10 minute drive. Easy access to the Blue Ridge parkway, NC Arboretum, Folk Art Center and much more!

The space
This room is a 2nd story bedroom with en suite bath at the back of the home. The peaceful private deck gives you a Birdseye view of this lovely neighborhood. The private entrance and private deck is accessed by 18 stairs with access to backyard pergola with seating and dining table. The backyard and Pergola space is shared with other guests.

Guest access
This calendar reflects the reservations for the "Green Room Aerie” It is located at the back of the house, upstairs second floor. When you get to the upstairs deck, you’ll see why we call it “the Aerie”.
The Green room has a comfy queen size bed and an en-suite private bathroom. A "roll-away" bed is available for one extra guest, as well as a pack and play for small children . The room has a mini- split air conditioner, mini-fridge, high speed wi-fi, cable/Roku tv, Coffee maker, two complementary bottles of water, assorted teas and coffees with sweeteners. The bathroom has soap, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, iron, and all linens. There is access to outdoor pergola with outdoor seating and dining.

Other things to note
I would like to note that this is a Home-stay, as Jeff and I do live in the house as per required by the city of Asheville. Please park on the Elizabeth Street side. Also, on the day of your arrival, a general ETA is appreciated!

I have two small short-haired kitties, Sebastian and Sasha, real sweet and mellow. They stay outside most of the time and are never allowed in guest rooms for those who might be slightly allergic. I have had several guests stay who are allergic to cats and have had no adverse reactions.

LGBTQ and straight-friendly.

Neighborhood highlights

I love the beautiful old historic homes in this Montford neighborhood. My house dates from circa 1905-1910, termed a "Victorian cottage", and built by Richard Sharp Smith, Biltmore Estate supervising architect.
Many of the homes in the neighborhood date from the 1880's. This Victorian neighborhood was the first suburb of Asheville. It is very quiet and friendly. Lots of beautiful walking opportunities around the neighborhood.

My work: professional musician
Fun fact: I’m a professional musician
I am a professional musician. I teach private music lessons in my home and also do a lot of performing and am an adjunct professor of music. I love to travel, meet people and do fun things. I am proud of my town and am happy to help visitors find the best experience. I am really easy-going and have been renting rooms in my house for many years to people who need a place to stay for weeks, months or sometimes years. Guests will have a comfortable home away from home with easy flexibility within the house to come and go as you please. (must love music!) my life motto: life is for fun!!!!
