Stay on a Farm in the Finger Lakes

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Ross Road, Canadice, NY 14560, United States

The Space

Stay with us on our dairy goat farm in the Finger Lakes on Canadice Hill in a private sleeping cabin overlooking a quiet pond. In the adjacent private bathhouse is a coffee/tea bar with mini-fridge and microwave...small campfires are okay. Short distances to kayaking, scenic bicycling and great hiking and running trails. Or just enjoy farm life during your stay. This is a perfect get away from it all - walk in the woods place to stay. We are at 2000 ft. elevation and it is always a little cooler up to come in the Summer or Fall. Bicycle travelers welcome!

  • Jane's tiny farm is a jewel set among the hills of the western finger lakes. Her spotless guest house with detached shower/kitchenette bldg was a perfectly insulating 35-40 minutes from SUNY Geneseo where I was visiting my daughter for parents weekend. Disappointed I was unable to enjoy more of the farm with it's tranquil pond view, and stock up on her home grown organic brown eggs. I'll be back. My thanks to such a gracious and generous host.

  • We stayed here two nights. Jane's cabin is very cute; the area is quiet, relaxing and really beautiful. Definitely worth it to visit! If you're looking for a simple and very peaceful place to stay, the cabin is just perfect. For colder nights, bring really warm clothing!

  • I concur with all the accolades that have been left for this spot! In a word, the cabin was Adorable! Everything is neat and tidy, the out-building (with bathroom, shower, kitchenette) is very well equipped and practical. Jane is very kind, helpful and generous in her invitation to "make yourself completely at home and feel free to browse around the property and interact with the creatures". It is, indeed, Walden's Pond! We'll be back. Thanks, Jane!

  • Kim & I had a 5 star stay at Jane's cottage. Jane was a wonderful host and made sure we knew all about the area and its attractions. The peace and quiet, the secluded surroundings all made our visit the get-a-way weekend we were looking for. We found toiletries, teas & coffee and a very good shower added to the whole effect. The electric fire made the cottage toasty warm very quickly. Jane's menagerie was extremely interesting and Mew Mew made us her new best friend. Now that we are better acquainted with the area, we'll be sure to return for another stay. Our meal at the Brown Hound Bistro was outstanding *****. Anyone who treasures starry nights, seclusion , peace and quiet and nature would be wise to spend time at SummerHill Farm

  • I would highly recommend a visit to Janes Farm as the atmosphere was wonderful. She was a very pleasant host and my stay was extremely peaceful.I learned about her goats and even had the pleasure of meeting some of her family . If you are looking for someplace relaxing and beautiful, this would be the place . GREAT TIME!!!!!

  • My stay was amazing-- the cabin is very sweet-- a double bed with a single bunk over top, a dresser, table and chair. A cute front porch. A fire pit with lots of dry wood. Bathroom and coffee/fridge/microwave are in separate building but it wasn't a problem. Everything is meticulously clean. And, the cabin is set apart from the host's home so there is a lot of privacy.

The host, Jane, is lovely. Fun to talk with and full of stories about her goats and the world. Chickens, turkeys and a couple of cats are good company too, roaming the grounds.

I can hardly wait to return.

  • This was a very cute spot to spend the night. The location is quiet and clean. My husband and I shared a picnic by the pond.

We Raise, Board and Sell Saanen/Nubian Dairy Goats.
We moved away from the city some years ago to start a farm and raise dairy goats. We all live peacefully in the Bristol Hills in the Finger Lakes and we wouldn't return for anything! We live where there is great running, hiking and biking, near quiet lakes and beautiful hills and valleys. So, come visit us and stay in our cabin on our farm.
