Our calm and quirky one bed appt with lots of light is set right in the hub of Darlinghurst with so much close by. Amazing cafe/restaurants on one side, the excitement of Kings Cross on the other and a 3 min walk from beautiful Rushcutters Bay.
Our cute little apartment is comfortable and cosy. It's got the most amazing wall of book shelves which we are working hard to fill and it's super quiet! We are really close to everything in the city. You can walk anywhere you want within about 25 minutes but you wouldn't know it as it's as quiet as you would like inside. Don't like Australian bugs? Not a problem, all the windows have netting.
The apartment comfortably fits 2 but the sofa pulls out into a sofa bed if you are bringing a couple more people along too.
Guests will have access to the whole apartment.
There are various 'kitchen gadgets' including a Nespresso Coffee Machine and Sodastream that guests can enjoy. We also have a mass of kitchen utensils.
In the living room, there is a 50" TV with Xbox 360 and wireless internet.
Bedroom is a calm and beautiful place to relax after a long day taking in the sights or a big night out.
There is a shared washer/ dryer in the basement. It's easy to use and clean.
We also have a couple road bikes which you can use you fancy seeing the city on two wheels.
Nothing is off limits - you can do as you please.
Interaction with Guests
We won't be around during your stay, though you'll be able to contact us at any time if need be.
Darlinghurst is the hub of the city. It's an amazing little inner city village full of gorgeous restaurants and cute coffee/ wine bars but the best part is that it's close to everything! You can literally walk anywhere you want in the city within about 25 minutes. The Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Surry Hills, Elizabeth Bay, Potts Point, Paddington, CBD are all within easy walking reach and take a short bus trip to the beautiful Bondi Beach.
Kings Cross Train Station is about 3 minutes walk and there are plenty bus stops nearby but as noted before you don't need them because you can walk everywhere!
No smoking please in our apartment and we don't allow pets as a general rule but get in touch, we may allow the odd exception.
We would expect you to treat our place as your own. Keep it clean and look after the place. That's about it! :)
The apartment was perfect for our needs, and in a great location convenient to public transport or a short walk (20 minutes) to the downtown area. The local neighborhood had plenty of choices if you wanted to eat out, and the kitchen was great for preparing a light meal. Chris was a super host, with great communication in the booking process and throughout our stay, even going as far as providing a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Some considerations before you book: As noted in other reviews, the bathroom is compact and the shower might be a little tight for larger individuals. The building is up a short but fairly steep hill that might not be manageable for older or physically challenged travelers. Also, the apartment is up one flight of stairs. Don't be put off by the somewhat dilapidated public space in the building, the apartment is great, with nice views over the surrounding area.
To sum up, this is a great apartment in a good location but might not be suitable for everyone. Chris (and by extension Lydia) are wonderful hosts.
The apartment is in a great location, and Chris is a brilliant host. He was answered loads of questions and provided loads of info and made sure we had everything we needed.
I was impressed how well equipped the kitchen is, in terms of utensils etc but also things like spices - really handy if you want to cook there.
It is cosy, there is not a lot of space, esp in the shower! Also the carpet is really not comfortable for bare feet, you'll want flip flops or something.
It was in a quiet location, we didn't have any problems sleeping.
Entire Cute Darlinghurst Appt was just as described. It is comfortable and supportive of the needs of its people. The fold out bed was a good one and there is everthing one needs for a short stay. I particularly liked how close it was to transport and to the city. And My friend and I did walk to circular quay from the appartment. Thanks for the cake and bottle of wine of welcome. I did like your bookcase and access to the internet. Thank you.
Very nice little apartment located in a charming street very close to Kings cross and everything. Lydia and Chris organized everything from options for our arrival to providing adresses of nearby restaurants that were very good ! Overall, a great stay, bathroom is small but hey, you are at the heart of the city. We loved the bottle of wine waiting for us in the kitchen, this place is perfect for 2 people, very cosy and comfy, it felt like home in a matter of hours as everything was provided. I would definitely recommend Lydia's place to anyone looking for a like-at-home Sydney escapade without the noise and crazyness of a CBD-located apartment.
Great location. Nice quiet unit in a cute street. Chris was a great helpful host. I would recommend this listing
Great location and easy system of pick up/drop off of keys - thanks for accommodating us at such short notice!
Excellent. Lovely cute apartment in a great spot. Delightful bottle of wine on arrival. Easy to access. Quiet, convenient and homely. Really enjoyed our stay.
