Alleyn is a lovely host who took the time to provide a map and explain the Nob Hill neighbourhood/ and other areas of Portland to me and my husband. We really appreciated her tips! The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the neighbourhood is a great place to walk/ explore boutique shops/ restaurants. It is close to a Bluestar donuts location (which is was on my must visit list of places to go in Portland) and getting to other parts of the city was convenient also by transit. I would recommend her place to anyone who asks!
We has such a great experience staying in Alleyn's house! Very cute space, comfortable common areas, and really GREAT location! Thank you!!!
This was my first experience staying in an AirBnb and it was an extremely positive one. Alleyn was a wonderful host. Her home was beautiful and felt like a home away from home for me. Her home is in a sweet neighborhood that is a short walk from many wonderful restaurants and shopping opportunities. I highly recommend staying with Alleyn and plan on staying with her on my next visit to Portland. Thanks Alleyn!
Alleyn's home was the perfect place to stay while visiting Portland. Upon arriving, she showed us to our room which was beautiful and immaculate with clean towels provided. She had many helpful tips and suggestions for things to see and do in Portland. Her neighborhood is quiet with Portland's many attractions easily accessible from her home. Forest Park shouldn't be missed and is within walking distance along with many restaurants, shops, and smaller parks. Parking is easy. When we return to Portland, we hope we are able to stay with Alleyn again.
Alleyn was the perfect hostess. She went into great detail as to what I could do in Portland, the places to check out, and I enjoyed all the things I did that she suggested.
The neighborhood was amazing! Everything was within walking distance, very convenient to public transportation, and very safe (I had to walk back late at night a couple of times).
Alleyn's home was just so beautiful, and the room totally zen. The room was right next to the bathroom, which made it very convenient. Everything about her home, the room, the bathroom, was beautifully appointed. And, the bed was perfect (I'm really picky about my bed. I've been known to throw a comforter and sleep on the floor if I don't like the bed).

About the Host, Alleyn
I live in the NW district close to the center of town because it is easily accessible from almost anywhere in Portland. Ten minutes from the airport. My great grandparents built homes in this neighborhood when it was first being developed and I have always loved this section of town. I moved to my present home in the Nob Hill district about 14 years ago.
I was an interior designer for many years and I also teach watercolor at the local community center.
I can't live without the ocean (an hour and a half drive from here), the mountains (an hour's drive), the beautiful Columbia gorge (1/2 hour) and Forest Park (minutes away).
I just saw the movie St Vincent with Bill Murray and loved it. Funny and charming.
I enjoy people from all walks of life and love to travel when given the chance.
