In the Bastille neighborhood there are a multitude of attractions including the Opera House, while along Rue de Lappe and Rue de la Roquette, you will find some of the trendiest restaurants and cafes in Paris – patisseries and boulangeries sit alongside small independent and unique shops.
Across the street on Boulevard Richard Lenoir is a very popular open air food market (open Sunday/Thursday mornings) while on Saturday the same locations is host to an eclectic arts and crafts market.
Other cultural points of interest in this neighborhood include the Picasso Museum and the Cimetiere Perre Lachaise (where lie such luminaries as Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf and Jim Morrison). The building is on one of the main streets, so it is very convenient to move around the whole city. Chinatown just several walks away, there are many fantastic and cheap Chinese food! The building itself is an old historical structure, it can bring you back to the old times easily,especially with cable car just rolling outside! The host is very friendly and easy going,she knows a lot about this area, so you basically benefit from a local tour guide.
