  • staying in Ivan's cabin was unforgettable. like another reviewer mentioned, the photos do absolutely no justice. everything that is mentioned (including the canoe and firepit) are available and not fabricated whatsoever- the full kitchen, the communal dining table, the sound system, beautiful bathrooms, nearby farms- you name it. there was literally nothing else we could have needed that was not provided.

we took the canoe out onto the lake several times, which was a dream in itself. the cabin is on private property which offers a sense of escape, but there are a few other houses (with friendly neighbors that I spotted on morning walks) on the property to avoid feeling complete isolation.

Ivan checked in with us several times throughout our stay to make sure everything was okay. I was in disbelief of the views of the lake, and both the house and backyard are very spacious- an ideal place to spend a week with friends/family. but its also perfect for staying just a few nights like we did. i could go on and on..

do yourself a favor and rent this cabin.

  • Ivan's place is pure luxury in the heart of TriBeCa.
Communication was first class including follow up post arrival to check everything was OK.

The apartment is up a few flights of stairs but is well worth the climb as it is airy, full of natural light and large. Stylish touches make the place as good - no better than a five star Manhattan hotel.

The roof terrace is a dream come true, plenty of space to stretch out in the sun or in the shade under the canopy. The bamboo provides a degree of privacy and softens the building edges - a great place to eat breakfast watching the sun rise over lower Manhattan or just chill with a beer.

A great location within a short walk of restaurants and bars from the casual to the uber trendy. Whole Foods is 10 minutes walk and Greenwich Village is 15 minutes up the road. The subway is also within easy reach.

Highly recommended apartment and a very helpful host - many thanks.

  • The place was amazing and the little touches left by the host just complimented the experience. The 5 floor walk up while a little bit of a pain was ok and added to walking off the over indulging. I have no hesitation in recommending this place as a fantastic stay for two over the summer months to really enjoy the roof top as we did several times.

  • Such a great host! Was quick to respond to any questions we had. What an amazing home close to shops, restaurants, etc. We will definitely be back and hopefully during the summer months to enjoy the private rooftop!

  • We had a great experience at Ivan's cabin. This was likely the only time where the public photos of the cabin online, did not do the real thing justice. Ivan did a remarkable job decorating the cabin and property. Its a beautiful spot and I'm eager to return in the summer again.

It was easy to schedule arrival and departure, we were not left in the dark at all. Luckily we did not need any last minute items or help, but Ivan was on call if we did. Overal we had a fun time and I would recommend this cabin for a casual weekend getaway.

  • John's cabin is clean, well-stocked (towels, linens, pillows), and decorated/furnished with neat design pieces (which can be fragile -- careful!). The private (artificial?) pond is pleasant. There's a fire pit on the property, boats for paddling on the pond, and a nice porch for sitting. The surrounding farmland and woods offer plenty of routes for runners. John is an accommodating, detail-oriented host (maybe some will find him a bit fussy, but just make sure to read the "house rules" carefully!). Cell-phone reception at the cabin is very patchy -- don't count on it. The one negative detail, in our particular case, was that John had left us the wrong key (or a broken key), so we had to "break in" through a window and couldn't all leave the cabin at once during our stay. Presumably that won't happen again, though -- and John was relatively gracious in allowing us to get into his place by unorthodox means...

  • Ivan's cabin provided a much needed city escape for me and my friends. The views are beautiful and we sat out by the fire for a solid four hours on saturday night.

Heads up, there is no internet (as it should be in the woods) and reception is questionable, so don't plan to do any work!
