We are uniquely located on a very, quiet, garden-lined, dead end street in the historic hill section of Burlington, yet only a 10 min. walk to our vibrant downtown and UVM. We're located in the heart of Champlain college. We offer privacy, green space and quiet outside your bedroom window. There's a free shuttle to the waterfront a few blocks away that runs during the week. Our 1890 carriage house was converted to living quarters a number of years ago. The guest quarters are essentially a private apartment. A bedroom and private bathroom are located on the ground floor just off a private front room that has sitting area and kitchenette that provides a microwave, sink, electric kettle & fridge for your use as well as a washer/dryer. There is a door that separates the guest quarters from the rest of the house (see photos). While we don't use the guest quarters, for guests during longer stays we sometimes need occasional access to this extra fridge & laundry. You'll find breakfast items (teas, coffee, juice, milk, granola, oatmeal) stocked in your fridge/cabinet. Help yourself. Cable TV, WIFI, radio/cd player. Fresh linens & towels are provided. Off street parking. Our sweet, quiet and friendly dog, Woody, is a cairn terrier, which is a non-shedding hypoallergenic breed. He stays in our living quarters. While we are animal lovers, we regret that we cannot accommodate your pet. Price includes 11% rooms & meals tax. We do have an extra charge of $20 for all one-night stays during our busy season (mid-April- Nov) and a two night weekend minimum (Friday-Sunday) during the height of our season. A one-time fee of $35 will be charged for use of the spare bed in the sitting room regardless of how many nights for any pairs not wishing to share the bedroom (i.e.- mother/daughter, siblings, good friends but not THAT close, etc). We'd like to accommodate pairs of folks that may not wish to share the big bed. These fees are cash transactions handled separately from Airbnb during the time of your visit. We're looking forward to meeting you!

The accommodations provided by Linda were terrific! Exactly as noted in the listing, we had what amounted to a small apartment: living room/kitchenette; bedroom and 3/4 bath. Linda is a wonderful hostess, and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The location, in the middle of the Champlain College campus, was perfect.
This is one of the sweetest neighborhoods in Burlington....close to all the happenings, but quiet and safe and comfortable. The description was accurate. It felt like being in a guest house that was part of the main house. Everything I needed was in the room and notes dotted around the guest house answered any questions I had. Everything was clean and tidy and in good order. Linda worked with my travel schedule and was very open with communication to be sure I had everything I needed and was comfortable. I would definitely recommend the stay to anyone else traveling to the area!
This was just one of the nicest Air Bnb's we've ever stayed in. Linda and Mark are lovely, they have thought of all of the simplest but most noticed amenties: cleanliness, good coffee, warmth, privacy and ease. We unexpectedly had to have our daughter stay both nights with us - instead of with friends nearby- and they were so generous and understanding about this change - Plus there was plenty of room!
A fabulous home in a great location. I would stay there in a minute again if we need to (and hope we will!)
Linda was a fantastic host! The room was great--there is plenty of space, it's very clean, and the snacks in the kitchen area were delicious. The location is perfect because it's within walking distance (approximately 10 min) from Church St. We'd definitely like to stay there again in the future!
What a great time! Linda was so sweet and the house was charming. The suite is really roomy with lots of great breakfast treats. We would definitely want to come back!
My daughter and I came to town for one night and stayed at Linda's. She left us lots of notes and suggestions, wonderful foods for breakfast including homemade banana bread, and a parking space right outside the house -- no small thing this snowy winter! Her apartment is warm and beautiful. There was really nothing missing! It's a great location in the midst of the 2 colleges and all the restaurants, shops and places to walk. We could imagine coming back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much!
My husband and I drove up to Burlington for a relaxing weekend and the Carriage House was perfect for us! The little apartment is well appointed and cozy. The hosts had kindly stocked the kitchen with breakfast goodies, tea and hot chocolate. The internet connection was fast and reliable. Overall, a perfect hassle-free experience. Thank you for your hospitality!
We're a fun, relaxed & casual household and we love to travel. A family of four, we have two sons. My husband (with a partner) owns & manages a local company- Vermont Energy. I'm a working artist/painter with a studio nearby and also teach (painting/drawing). We have a sweet dog (cairn terrier), Woody and a shy cat. I've lived here for over 30 years and love everything this great town has to offer. We both love the outdoors and take great inspiration from the farms, woods, lake, rivers, mountains and natural wonders that surround us.
