The Space

The 1-bedroom cottage is ideal for one or two women, a perfect writer's cottage or personal retreat. The location's supreme, whether you enjoy the cottage or deck all day or take advantage of all that's nearby — Osmosis Spa and the Wildflour Bakery, beaches and seaside walks, the Grove of the Old Trees, and the nearby towns of Bodega, Bodega Bay, Occidental, Freestone, and Sebastopol each with their own charms. Tomales Bay is 20 minutes south and Pt. Reyes Station (worth the trip) is 40 minutes.

This 1-bedroom guest cottage is owner-designed and built in 2009 on five acres of meadow encircled by redwood trees. Sliding glass doors open to the deck, for breathtaking sunrises and restful views. Kick back on the comfy deck swing with a cup of coffee and watch the birds tour the meadow or sip a glass of wine under the sunset sky. At night the starry sky is huge, and an owl hooting may be the only sound.

Your stay in paradise includes lots of special touches: bamboo wood flooring, central heating, dimmer switches and wall sconces for soft lighting, a CD/iPod player, docking station, flat screen TV for the DVD player. Daytime views from the luscious queen bed are the woods to one side and the meadow and trees to the other. In the tiled bathroom you'll find a clawfoot tub/shower, bubbles supplied. Wifi is available on request. I have a bowl of fresh fruit for you when you arrive, fresh-ground coffee, and a sampling of teas.

Guest Access

The living room, bedroom, bathroom, deck, and sitting area under the redwoods out front is yours to use for your stay. Bedding and towels provided. Electric tea kettle, tea and toaster oven. Fresh fruit basket.
