Where you’ll be

Portland, Oregon, United States

The Mock's Crest area is in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood and was built nearly a century ago. You'll see plenty of "Old Portland" style homes while staying close to all the main attractions downtown. We are about halfway between Interstate 5 and the thriving community of St. Johns, which is full of small shops, restaurants, breweries, Cathedral Park, and the iconic St. Johns Bridge. We are also 1 mile from University of Portland and a great place for parents and grandparents to stay during university events.

Columbia Park is 2 blocks from our home and its giant fir trees provide shade for beautiful picnics all summer long. The Green Zebra, a small local organic grocery store, is an easy 1/2 mile walk and the Kenton Farmer's market is also within 2 miles (open Wednesday’s from June 6-September 25).

If you’re looking for Farm to Table experiences, we can direct you to berry picking on nearby Sauvie Island or dinner in a field at one of their farms.

We are married professionals with 3 children aged teen to preschooler. Monica works in healthcare technology and Alex is a mental health therapist who is currently staying home full time with our kids and managing the guest house. We used to vacation in time shares and know how to make a space comfortable for a week or more. (We’ve been known to pack our own kitchen knives - which is why Fowler House provides good ones.)

We have enjoyed being guests in AirBnBs and appreciate the community and discovering new places. We enjoy meeting new people from a variety of cultures, backgrounds and abilities.

We both grew up in the Pacific Northwest and have lived in North Portland since 2006. Hobbies include cooking, cycling, volunteering, and spending time with friends. Our family loves music and 3 of us are currently learning Suzuki violin. Alex’s first language was German and he would love to talk with you about Bavaria, beer, or philosophy.

Our family is frequently outside when it's sunny, so you may join us for dinner or eat at your own outdoor table. Otherwise, interaction is completely up to you. We like to meet guests from all walks of life, but we will also give you privacy if you desire. We are just a short text away with anything you need. You will be able to self-check-in upon arrival.
