It is quite impossible to describe how special this place is. Lofty and sheltered at the same time ,you can spend days here just watching the bay change, spot a whale or the dolphins and breathe in the view, the view and the view...
Cozy and warm in winter and airy in summer its the perfect hide away all year round.
Behind you is just the mountain with fantastic walking trails but the centre with all its attractions is also only 30 min away. Please note that you need to climb 180 stairs

The space
The Birds nest is built as a quaint lofty cottage with high ceilings with sea views from all spaces. The living area is open plan with a dining table, corner couch and fully equipped kitchen (toaster, microwave, oven, coffee maker, kettle etc). A cast iron wood stove keeps you warm in winter.

The main bedroom with a queen sized bed has french doors opening to the Veranda.
The other bedroom is located above the living area and is reached by climbing up a ladder. It is partly open to the living area (no solid wall), but high enough to be private.
There is one bathroom with a shower.
Outside is a wonderful veranda with shadecloth and a BBQ.

Please note the following: To get to the best view in the world you will need to conquer the mountain.. this means 189 steps. Yes you read right.. While this seems a lot every single person who has made it to the top assured that it was absolutely worth it. (And besides you will work up a bum of steel and dont need to double it up in the gym when you are coming back from holiday).

We were hesitant to put up an age for kids because everyone brings up their kids so differently. Apart from the stairs it should be noted that the balcony is fenced in a way that the spacing is legal for kids, but if they really really try they can probably squeeze themselves through that, especially if very young and left unattended. It should also be noted that if kids sleep in the upstairs room, that they will have to climb a ladder to get there.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole house and there are no shared spaces.

Other things to note
Travel Documents: If you are traveling with children (under the age of 18) please remember to bring their Unabridged Birth Certificate along with you. This is one of the requirements when traveling to and from South Africa.
