You Made It!!!

The Whitman House is an modern style bed and breakfast in Central Square just between Harvard and MIT in Cambridge and about a 15 minute walk to either. We are 3 minute walk to the Red Line T stop and three stops from downtown Boston.

There are three of us that run the bed and breakfast and there are three private rooms in the house for rent, plus a large common kitchen, living room, dining room, and back and front porch.

During the day we operate a public health nonprofit called Search For A Cure in the downstairs office but are around to help you find your way and enjoy Boston/Cambridge.

We have three private rooms available with a range of prices depending on the season but in general falling between $99 in the winter for a queen sized bed with shared bathroom and $195 in the spring/summer for a king sized memory foam bed with ensuited bathroom beyond the walkthrough closet. It is possible to add an air mattress to the floor for a third person for a small additional fee.

Since we actually have 3 rooms message us to find out what rooms might be available and what the price is for the date you are interested in. If we can accommodate you and the price is OK we will make an offer through Airnbnb and book it for you.

Unlike most places in Cambridge, we have no taxes, and no extra fees for our free off street parking, wireless internet, coupons for breakfast at the local cafe, cable TV/DVD in each room, washer/dryer/iron etc... All complimentary.

We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you enjoy Boston and Cambridge!

Staying with David and Robert was great and I'd definitely return the next time I have to go to MIT and Harvard! The house is very nice and my room was perfect.

Beautiful, quiet, tree-lined street in residential area, with metro and shops nearby. The house has several b&b rooms, mine was with a shared bathroom. Breakfast is amazing, lots of baked goods, fruits, yoghurt, cereal, and including my favourite: coffee and oatmeal. Check-in and -out was flexible and emails were answered promptly. Loction is ideal for visiting Harvard and MIT, both are a 20-30 minute walk (and faster by metro ;-)). Recommended!

Whitman house is a lovely old house in a quiet neighborhood right in the centre of Cambridge. It's clean, quiet, and spacious and the breakfast is great. What makes this places extra special are the lovely hosts, who are very charming and always up for a chat (or a very serious discussion). Robert and David made me feel very welcome and did everything they possibly could to make the best of my stay. Thank you for that!

The house is very nice and clean. The rooms that are for renting are spacious, with very comfortable beds. Robert and David are very nice people. I had very interesting discussions with David. There was one problem though: i needed a room for 4 nights, they had place for me for 3 nights and that part as perfect. For the forth night they told me they have a spare room, used by the family and they made a special offer for me. It seemed ok, until it turned out to be not a room - but an inflatable bed in the office space in the basement that I was to share with David. Except that, house is very nice and pleasant. The breakfast every morning is very nice. And I would recommend staying there as long as they have any regular room available :)

Response from Robert:
We suggested that Andjela stay at another bed and breakfast and that the best we could do if she did not have any other option was to use the space we have for family and friends which was not a separate room but space in our library. We of course did not charge her for that. We are sorry she was not happy with the arrangement but it seemed the right thing to do since she had no other space to stay.

For our second trip to Boston we didn't hesitate to reserve once again at Whitman House. We love David and Robert's beautiful, warm, friendly home in a quite safe residential neighborhood close to the T and many restaurants and places to visit. We enthusiastically recommend this bnb to all visitors to Cambridge.

(website hidden)(phone number hidden).html My stay with Robert was a exactly as expected. Spotless accommodations, wonderful shower, extremely comfortable bed, and perfect light breakfast. Robert and David are terrific hosts and their home is lovely. The neighborhood is safe, easy to locate inn, and parking convenient. Robert recommended some quick eats, and best of all upgraded us due to a cancellation. This was more than we could have asked for and a pleasant surprise. If you ate staying in Cambridge for a few nights, book ahead, and enjoy these two innkeepers!!!!

David was a very gracious and friendly host. He went out of his way to accommodate us and even helped us find another room in Boston when we decided to extend our stay. The house was better than anticipated and the whole experience was great. It is conveniently located near the subway and in a great area to call home base when exploring Boston. I would recommend the Whitman house to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while visiting Boston.
