A bright sunny house with plenty of room for a large group, and amazing views in almost every room. Island Watch is just a mile away from the nearest Acadia National Park access, a 5 minute walk (via a trail right from the house) into the village of Southwest Harbor, and a quick hop to the best swimming, hiking, boating, fishing, shopping and dining that Mount Desert Island has to offer.

The space
The view, the view, the view. From the open plan of the first floor living, dining and bar area, the entire east side of the house is a bank of windows showcasing the harbor below, Somes Sound fjord to the north, and the mountains of Acadia surrounding all. Sunrises are incredible at Island Watch, and the alpenglow of the sunsets on the mountains are a reason to enjoy the deck at cocktail hour.

The house has seven bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The two bedrooms on the main floor also have wider doors at ground level that provide much simpler access to those folks with mobility issues, one with a TV. These rooms connect to the main floor of the house. On this level are the living room/dining space with a wall of windows showcasing the view. The main kitchen is here along with a sun room and access to 3 seperate decks, one or more providing either shade or sun at almost any time of day. Also on this floor is a large stone fireplace.
The upper floor has four bedrooms. Three have wonderful water views. The fourth is the smaller "lighthouse room" that is usually the kids' room. This room has a bunk bed. There a TV with DVD player in this room. One other room on this level has a TV.
The lower floor has a queen bedroom, a full bath with stall shower, its own kitchen, including a stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, and a living room and dining area. The laundry room with a washer and dryer is on this level.

We also have a efficiency apartment in a detached building on the property that is rented seperately and is available at a discounted rate if your party is a little larger.

Guest access
The entire house (excepting the basement storage area, which will be locked) is available to guests.

Other things to note
The free Island Explorer bus is available not far from the end of our private trail in downtown Southwest Harbor.
