  • I arrived at 10:30 on Sunday night and there was someone there to meet me and show me around. No problems.
The apartment is on the seventh floor has a kitchen area, bathroom and living room/bedroom area. The balcony overlooks the Bow River. Its a cosy spot and I was very comfortable staying here.
Its located in Calgary Chinatown, which is downtown, near to the parkland along the Bow River. There are Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants close by, a small Chinese mall two doors up, and all of the downtown coffee shops and restaurants a couple of blocks away.
For those on a tight budget, you can catch the airport bus and get dropped of 1/2 block away from the apartment.
I have traveled to Calgary a lot, and stayed in many of the overpriced hotels downtown. I would stay here again if I have to make the trip again.

  • The condo was in a great downtown location (chinatown). Communication with the host was great (even though he was out of the country) and lots of helpful info left in the condo.... lists of good local restaurants and shops etc.

  • Hej, Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à Calgary. L'appartement d'une pièce est très bien équipé et fidèle à la description. L'emplacement de l'appartement est top, au centre ville, proche des restaurants et des transports en commun. A recommander !

  • I didn't actually get to meet Trevor but he was friendly on the phone and all went easily. The apartment was in Calgary's Chinatown, which though small, has great character with its shops and residents. The apartment was clean and an excellent location for my purpose, right off Centre St. and a 10 minute walk from the Convention Centre and business centre which was my destination. Worked well.

  • Trevor's place was perfect for the northeast downtown building I needed to go to for work - 1 to 2 blocks from the +15, which is a great network of connected buildings so you don't have to walk outside much in the -20C cold! To contrast with the previous reviews, I found it properly cleaned (he said he has gotten new cleaners), the thermostat/heat worked well, and extra blankets were in the closet. Thanks Trevor.

  • Well, the success of AirBnB relies on honesty, so I've got to be frank with my review: I had a mediocre-to-poor stay here. The good: Good location for attending conferences, nice view from the patio, decent furnishings, okay-ish communication from Host. The Bad: The unit was not adequately clean for my stay, despite me arriving to unexpectedly find the cleaning people still there. The bathroom was not very clean, and the shower drain not fully operational, resulting in me standing in 3 inches of water for my showers. The bathroom is also quite poorly lit (1 single halogen bulb), making shaving quite difficult. I can't imagine a girl trying to do makeup in there. The dishwasher had not been unloaded from previous guests, and it doesn't seem to work very well - glasses and dishes weren't very clean. (Granted, it seems Calgary has quite hard water). The bed was okay, but is wearing out in my opinion - I felt gouge-y springs several times. I was also only provided with 1 thin blanket, which turned out to be insufficient as the heat was either not working, or had not been turned on in the building as it was early fall. The host was travelling while I stayed there, so coordinating resolutions to these issues, as well as key pickup, was slow, and issues were (mostly) addressed on the last day of my stay. Overall, I did not feel like this was a good-value/good-experience stay.

    Response from Trevor:

    Hey Ben,
Sorry to hear that your stay was not to your liking. I didn't hear from you until quite late so co-ordinating getting you checked in was a bit of a challenge but it did work out. I am out of the country so I had to co-ordinate it with my property manager and well we worked something out. Sorry it wasn't super convenient. I was surprised by your review about the condo not being clean. I did have a cleaning crew in and clearly they did not do a good job and I will address this issue with them, The water in Calgary is very hard and sometimes the dishes come out spotty but they are clean. I will have a look at the dishwasher as well. The bed is new. It's less than a year old. I'm surprised that it's worn out so quickly! I will address this issue as well. It sounds like there were several things that came up and I certainly tried to address all of them as best as I can and will continue to. I'm sorry that your stay was not as pleasant as it could have been. It's funny that the previous guest said nothing about the heat not working. I would have had it repaired right away. All said I'm sorry to hear that you were uncomfortable and all of these issues have or will be addressed. All the best. Trevor

  • Trevor was a terrific host. I was here for a conference at the convention downtown and the location worked perfectly! It felt safe walking down Centre St, and was only 5 blocks away. There were some really nice places to eat and explore in Chinatown as well. The building is a bit dated but the condo itself had everything you may need, wifi, cable TV, kitchen, etc. I would definitely stay here again! He even went out of his way to arrange for airport transfer since I didn't have a phone to call the cab. Thanks for being an accommodating host!

  • In response to Trevors review, I am sorry that he has found that a request for help to (A) find out if the apartment was habitable because of the flood, ( told me it was not affected except for the power outage) (B) to ask where the cot he provides for the third occupant was. (He had only provided a 2 inch foam mattress for my husband of 71 yrs to sleep on the floor). (c) To request more crockery, cutlery a stopper for the sink, and for the TV to be fixed, all things that a host should have seen to before guests arrived. The only two plates in the apartment were chipped. I have stayed in many privately owned apartments over the years and never have I stayed in a one that was not suitable, clean with adequate equipment. I have given many reviews but never have they been negative. This apartment is definitely NOT suitable for three people. On a positive note, the apartment is very handy for town, bus stops and the C train, and is in the heart of Chinatown.

    Response from Trevor:

My condo is definitely suitable for three people. It has a new full size bed that can very comfortably sleep two plus a single roll out cot for an additional person. There are plenty of new clean cups, plates, pots, pans, towels, sheets and blankets more than enough for three people. In fact several small families of three have stayed there in the past including one immediately after you left. They were very happy with the accommodation. It is lovely condo, with terrific views, fully equipped, reasonably priced and in an excellent location as all the other reviews have mentioned.

  • Great location - as everyone else has said. Excellent communication with Trevor, and brother Adam, both before and after our trip. A really great place to stay in Downtown Calgary.

  • Trevor was a very friendly host, with an apartment in a great location and lots of useful info for exploring Calgary. Downtown is just a few blocks away, and Chinatown is right on the doorstep. Plus the apartment has the best views in Calgary for the Canada Day fireworks!
