Kenneth was a sweet, welcoming, jovial, easygoing host. The space was comfortable, chic and looks exactly as it does in the pictures. My friends and I were comfortable, felt safe, and most importantly right at home.
The apartment is literally around the corner from the "hip strip"
everything that you need is right around the corner (atm, restaurants, shops, thrifts, just about everything you need.
The property is safe, gated, and my girlfriends and I came and went at our leisure. Kenneth was not smothering, and we knew that he was just an phone call away. I would definitely stay there again.
Bolanles Place was fantastic! My daughter and I stayed here at the top and tale of our South African holiday. Kenneth was the most helpful and generous host. Melville is a terrific area to stay in with good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Would highly recommend Bolanles Place to anyone staying in J'Burg. Thanks Kenneth!
This property is in a great location. There are nice restaurants around the corner in Mellville. This host is excellent. Very friendly, knowlegable and ready to assist you. He arranged transportation and made recommendations for traveling around. The apartment is spacious with two bedrooms upstairs.
Steep stairs and only one bathroom located upstairs.
Kenneth was a great host! He graciously offered to pick us up at the airport and ended up giving us a ride from a train stop closer to his home. He immediately made us feel at home and offered suggestions on good restaurants in the area to eat. He is also very fun to talk to!
His home is located in a great spot, less than 1 block away from 7th street where we found a number of good restaurants, bars, and a convenience store.
The unit looked exactly as it did in the beautiful pictures. His home also has a pool that is available to guests. The home was well supplied and was very comfortable. We had very few problems. We did see quite a few ants in the kitchen area and the shower was very inconsistent, quickly shooting from cold to very hot and required constant fidgeting with. The internet was also very slow most of the day and can be difficult if you need to get any work done.
A lovely 2 bedroom cottage. The balcony (upstairs, off one of the bedrooms) had a spectacular view of the city centre skyline, above the trees. Otherwise, the cottage had no outside space of its own, but we could use the big sparkling pool in the adjoining garden of the main house. Kenneth was a most engaging and helpful host.
Kenneth was a fantastic host. He met us at the airport, gave is a tour of the city, oriented us to the neighborhood, and gave great recommendations for food and general tourism in Joburg. The apartment was clean and lovely, in a great neighborhood, and felt very safe. Overall we had a great time in Joburg and Kenneth/Bolanles House were a big part of that! I highly recommend staying here.
Bolanles Place was indeed a "home away from home." From the fully-stocked kitchen to the comfortable beds, it was just what our jet-lagged bodies needed in Joburg. Further, Kenneth was a magnificent and magnanimous host. You could not ask for better! (And Melville turned out to be great, too!) Thanks, Kenneth--and tickle Bola for us.
