About this listing
Peaceful home nestled on a hill with deer, lots of trees, and the valley. Enjoy hiking at your doorstep, or go touring on bike. Easy access to Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. Multilevel home with stairs. Fresh breakfast baking included.
Our special hill house may feel like it is worlds away with all the deer and trees, but a 30 minute (oftentimes less!) drive south finds you in downtown San Francisco! Or perhaps you'd rather take in Northern California's beautiful wine country only an hour (oftentimes less!) north of here! It is a big and relaxed house on three levels with character, and older country kitchen, and A LOT of stairs.
Guests will have access to their room, private bathroom in same hallway, family room, and kitchen. Hot Tub is available for use with prior notice. Have a family? Inquire about options!
Interaction with Guests
We love visitors and are always happy to engage in conversation, help with directions or things to do, but will also respect your privacy.
We love that our neighborhood is quiet and filled with deer, birds, and trees. We love that we can go hiking from our doorstep, or take a 2 mile leisurely stroll to downtown Mill Valley, or 1 mile to Whole Foods. We are on a hill, so any walk will end in uphill!
So close to so much! And if you like hiking, it is only an 45 minute - 1 hour hike to Muir Woods.
The #4 Golden Gate Transit bus will take you straight to SF's financial district. The bus stop is about a mile walk from the house. The Stagecoach will take you to beautiful Stinson Beach, up and over Mt. Tam. Car is recommended but not required. Bikes available for use with 24 hour notice.
Other Things to Note
Fabulous hiking in Marin Headlands and Mt. Tam, both accessible from the house or within a short drive. Bike path will take you straight to the town of Sausalito, but it is an uphill bike ride home.
No smoking or drugs. Other than that, we are reasonably relaxed. Please respect the privacy of the lower level and top level, both of which are not open to guests.

We had a great stay! Mary Ann and Chris were very welcoming, gave us great tips and made us a terrific breakfast. Our room and bathroom were clean and just like in the pictures. Plus, the house is really beautiful and is in a great location. Highly recommended.
Had a good stay at Mary Ann and Chris. Well definitely recommend to friends
We really had a wonderful time exploring San Francisco from Mill Valley. The house is located beautifully in the hills and we even saw some deer in the backyard in the morning. The drive to San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge was a nice drive and we enjoyed visiting the nearby located Sausalito as well. Mary Ann and Chris were very welcoming, gave great advice about the area and were the perfect airbnb-hosts. Thanks again for the pleasant stay!
Chris and Mary Ann were spectacular host. Friendly and attentive. Room and bathroom were great. Freshly baked bread every morning with fruit and coffee for breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and give them the highest possible rating !!

We enjoyed staying with Mary Ann and Chris. They were friendly and gracious hosts. Their place is very close to San Francisco, at the same time, it's is nice and quiet, nestled in woods and mountains.
Mary Ann and Chris were incredible hosts. I had a great time while I stayed in Mill Valley and I was made very comfortable in their home. The continental breakfast was great and everything was perfect. I'm sad I was too tired to go into the spa on the deck. Really a magical place. I can't wait to go back and visit again!
