Interaction with Guests
We can help the guests telling them were is the best place to go surfing, we live on a house next to the place and we are ready to help and advice in everything
We are directly next door to "Cafe La Ventana" an organic cafe that serves smoothies, espresso, and amazing food using fresh made breads and local produce. Next door to them is "Johnny Manana surf art gallery"
Located 30 minutes from Tamarindo, and 10 minutes to Avellanas. There are buses to Santa Cruz and other towns, but as far as in town most people just walk or take bikes because everything is so close. There is a place for parking on the property so if you have a rental car it will be safe in the gated yard. A neighbor of mine have a car service and can pick you up in most places if you arrange with us ahead of time.
Coco is the man! He was super friendly and accommodating. He lent my girlfriend and I his bikes, hooked me up with a surfboard and arranged for his Ben to drive us to the airport the night we left. Coco is an incredibly friendly guy and his house is awesome.
Coco was in San Jose when we arrived (renewing his visa or something). Place is awesome looking all handmade wood etc. Unfortunately while he was gone the water broke. Nobody was there to repair it at the time so we left. He quickly refunded us and was extremely kind and apologetic.
We had a fantastic time staying in Coco's place. We initially had some trouble finding it as it is nicely tucked away and private, but Coco sent his brother to retrieve us from a well known landmark. The accommodation itself is beautifully crafted by Coco himself and comfortable and private with big fridge, coffee maker and very fast and reliable internet. Coco gave us good recommendations of where to go for drinks and dinner, and Playa Negra is a beautiful beach with low tourist development. Sadly we only were able to stay one night, as the house was booked for weeks, but we feel lucky to have been able to spend the one night getting to know Coco. Thanks Coco!
Super Nice staying at cocos place. He is a really cool guy. The house is perfect for a group of friends pr a small family. If you Like to surf a righthander go book it!
We arrived to a super laid back space and were greeted by Coco and his dog Pisco. He showed us around and we headed off for dinner. The space is exactly as described and was clean and ready for our arrival. We will be coming back for a stay on our way north. Thanks Coco!
This place was amazing. Coco built it himself from the ground up and definitely put his personal touch into it. Aside from being a skilled carpenter/builder he is a very nice guy who I instantly liked. It made the transition in Playa Negro easy and without incident.
Staying here was a very authentic Costa Rican experience, which for me is the entire reason I use Airbnb.
The place is in a safe, beautiful rural area within a very short walk to the beach. The beach is perfect for surfing and very lightly occupied. You are surrounded by all sorts of wildlife, like monkeys, all sorts of varieties of birds and various lizards, which you will see from your front porch if not from your bedroom window.
Also, as I work remotely it is very important for me to have a reliable Internet connection. I never had any problems with the Internet and was very pleased with this aspect of my stay, as it is integral for me to make a living.
Also, there are tons of expats here. I don’t speak Spanish well and this was never an issue. People are very open and easy to interact with when asking for advice or for when looking for friends.
Lastly, Coco took care of all of our needs, from loaning me his surf board daily to having his friend catch us fresh fish to cook in his backyard wood burning oven, he taught us what we needed to know, where to go, what to eat and there were definitely irie vibes at the end of the day… He was a perfect host who I hope to see again.
Overall we had a fantastic time and despite many visits to Costa Rica I felt this was a very unique one certainly worth replicating.
Book it now, you wont regret it.
