Coco was very helpful and made everything easy! The location is beautiful & rustic. Playa Negra is a locals town with a lovely beach - quaint and relaxing. Falling asleep to sounds the jungle every night and waking to the sound of roosters was my favorite part:)

Download offline (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map area of Costa Rica before your trip, we found Coco's place labeled in (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps and easy to find. We enjoyed our stay, good kitchen, bathroom, and WiFi, house can easily accommodate 4 guests with king bed in loft and bunk beds below. Playa Negra has great places to eat all within walking distance of Coco's, we ate at La Ventana and Jalepeno, both were delicious. Only few minutes drive to the beach or 10 to 15 minute walk. Coco did a great job of making us feel welcomed in Playa Negra and gave us local tips, we ended up staying an extra night. This is what Air BNB is all about :-)

If you're after an authentic experience living with the locals in Costa Rica alongside the comfort of a secluded place, this is it. Coco is a local legend that will give you instant respect in the community and show you around. The place is very comfortable for a couple and is nestled amongst the jungle. It's about a 10min walk to the main town so the walk is fine but better if you have your own car or bikes. Great experience and we would recommend staying here to anyone!

Coco's place is right down the road (about a 10-15 minute walk) to one of the best surf breaks in Playa Negra. Prior to arriving he was very responsive with giving us directions, and when we were there he was always available to give us advice or answer any of our questions. Coco is a great host, and a very nice guy. His friends and family were really cool as well. Thanks for everything Coco! Pura vida!

Coco's place in Playa Negra was awesome! Perfect for a small group of friends or couple who want to experience the authenticity of Costa Rica. The house was exactly as described and on the same property as the main house, which made it easy to ask about anything from local dining to activities. Coco (and his sweet dog nacho) were excellent hosts-- definitely coming back next year. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable!

Just make sure that it will cost 30 dollars to get in or out. (By taxi or by someone Coco knows) There is only 1 bus that goes to Santa Cruz. If you don't want to use a creditcard, get cash first at the ATM in Tamarindo or Santa Cruz before you are going to this lovely village. But it is a magical place!! You are surrounded by wildlife, incredible nature, lovely (surf) beaches and nice people. Really worth it! You have privacy and the cabin is so nice and clean!! Coco is there for you when you need him. I would defintely go again!!! Nice to see a small village like this. I really recommend this! By some candles because it is romantic even for a honeymoon I would recommend this or for surfing it is fun.
