Village : Bali is a colourful and friendly seaside resort surrounded by hilly terrain. In this place the blue of the sky and the light blue of the sea are (website hidden) a beautiful combination. It is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations of Crete.
For those wanting to explore the island there are a number of car hire outlets and good public bus connections to Rethymno (30km) and Heraklio. (approx 50km. Jeep safari trips may take you off the beaten track to mountain villages and beautiful beaches
Studio : Valentino apartments and studios, occupy an elevated, uphill position which affords good views. These pleasant studios and apartments are at a quiet spot, 40 m from the sea and less than 5 min walk from the nearest beach and resort center.
This studio is suitable for 2 to 3 persons, comprising of one living room/bedroom with twin beds and space for a third (camp)bed, kitchenette, refrigerator, shower/WC and terrace
This studio is at the ground floor.
The marvellous sandy beaches around the settlement are offered for swimming. There are water sports and boat trips. You can find a great surrounding area perfect for walking and mountain biking. There are lots of restaurants and traditional tavernas. In the evening the visitor of the village can have fun in the nightly clubs and the cafeterias of the region. (website hidden) train travels round the area every hour so you can go to other beaches with more restaurants to try.
Can you lets us know the way (bus, taxi, rented car, etc) and time of your arrival, so that we can help you get to us.
If you get a car (try here (website hidden), or (website hidden), or mail to (email hidden) to rent from a person at Bali). Use a map to come to Bali village, and then use the attached satellite photo to navigate from main road, through the village, to us.
If you get a taxi: try (website hidden). I think it’s rather cheap compared to usual taxis. It can deliver you when you arrive AND pick you up when you leave. In my opinion this is a really good choice, especially if you arrive late in the evening. For usual taxi try (email hidden)
If you use a bus
I think last bus is at 21.00 (depends on the season), but you have to check it (or ask me to check it for you):
Heraclio bus station (website hidden)
Chania bus station (website hidden)
-If you come - land at Heraclio airport:
Airport bus stop => bus => Heraclio bus station => bus => Bali village bus stop => Rethymno town/ Chania town
-If you come land at Chania airport:
Airport => taxi => Souda bus stop => bus => a. or b.
Rethymno bus station => bus => Bali village bus stop => Heraclio town.
Bali village bus stop => Heraclio town
You obviously always stop at Bali village bus stop
The towns are from west to east are like:
West – Chania - (Chania airport) – Souda port – Rethymno- Bali village – Heraclio - east
It’s a long and tiring way from bus stop to the Bali village and Valentino apartments. So in case you will use a bus to come to us, make sure that:
You will stop at the right bus stop “Bali village” which is between Heraclio town and Rethymno town, not at the end of the route.
Lets us know the time that you estimate you will be at Bali, a few days earlier.
There is a “tourist train” that stops at the bus stop when the bus comes.

All are optional.
Have in mind that we get paid in cash, and there is no bank at Bali village.
I'd highly recommend this place to everybody who wants to have a relaxed time on Crete. Valentinos is a stunningly beautiful located, the appartments are clean and equipped with everything which was mentioned in the description. The couple running the place is lovely and caring. Hristos even picked me up from the bus station when I arrived and brought me back there when I departed. He also shared some of his favorite Greek music which was awesome.
I really enjoyed my stay at Valentinos and am sure that I will come back to stay there next year.
This is a very nice place. The owners are so friendly and generous. The rooms are basic and very clean. I appreciated having a frig, sink and hot plate to do some simple meals. This is ideal for longer stays. Best points: the views from the terrace, the helpfulness of the hosts. Areas that could be improved: the WIFI signal - need a stinger router and repeaters to get to every room., parking. The road next to the hotel is narrow and steep. You may want to park up the hill a short walk from the apartments.
If I were to come back to Crete for a week or more holiday, this is the place I would stay.
Our stay at Valentino was absolutely great! The room was as pictured with great 180 degree views from the patio areas. The room was clean and had all the aminities noted on the website, the studio is very basic, but has everything you need. Niki and Hristos were extreamly friendly and treated us like family. One of our best experiences of our three month trip. (we stayed a week in Greece) We liked that studio was at the far end of the village, away from the large busy beach but having a couple smaller beaches close by.
We took public transport from Chania, first taking the bus from the airport to central chania, then from there to Bali Village. Once you get to the village we took the "tourist train" from the bus stop to the very end (2 euros) and were quite close to Valentino. You do have to make sure you are paying attention and tell the bus driver you are getting off at Bali Village as the bus only stops when stops are requested or their are people waiting at the bus stop.
Do note there is a small hill to walk up and down to get anywhere from the apartments.
We would definitely recommend Valentino Apartments to anyone visiting the area, and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Crete. An experience you don't want to miss!
Niki and Christos makes your stay so familiar :) They really care about everything. The rooms are five star cleaned, niki and christos are five star kind and friendly, bali is five star place to stay and the taverna few steps from apartmans Valentino is five star taverna, with the best melitzano salata that we've ever tasted. And thay offers five stars price. And I have a five stars recomandations for everybody around the globe :)
Nikki & Christos are lovely people. We received a nice warm welcome together with some delicious homemade food! The view is spectacular and Bali is situated right in the middle of the Island which makes it very practical for travelling. I thoroughly recommend Valentino appartments!!
A very nice apartment in a beautiful environment. Very cozy and clean, with plenty of balconies and terraces in every direction, and an amazing view on the sea, the village, and the mountains.
I stayed there for a few weeks in February and March (before the flood of tourists came) and I had the most peaceful and relaxing time. There were only very few shops and cafes open, but that was ok and the locals were very nice and helpful.
Especially the hosts, Nikki and Christos, are incredibly kind and (website hidden): if you come before March, pack really warm clothes, because it can get quite cold, even inside the apartment. And get a car, because taking the bus is rather weary.
PPS: Towards the end of March all shops, bars etc opened and the place changed entirely, became more touristic and lively. If you're looking for that kind of holidays, this is the perfect place, too.
This place is beautiful.
And my hosts, they are very nice, warm and the host's parents are so great to me that they gave me some food and drink too.
They are very generous and helpful.
Also the people staying there, were very nice too. They helped me too.
The only down side there is that you need to rent a car if you need to go to the big cities.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay there and I will stay there again in future.
Thanks to Constantinos and his parents. Also thanks to Sandra and Chris, who are also the guests in the place.
