This is a beautiful, bright home in an area of town that is quietly residential. It is a short walking distance to the trails at the river and the bars and restaurants of Rainey street . We loved the location. The house has a contemporary feel and was very clean and bright. Personal items were kept to a minimum and Jean was always fast to respond to messages and helpful from beginning to end. The extras were really appreciated of both toiletries and the welcome basket. There was comprehensive info about the area and the house. This was our first Air B and B experience and we loved it !

This house is so beautiful and so comfortable. The photos don't do it justice. I was here for SXSW and it was such a sanctuary to come home to at the end of the day. The location is perfect! Best coffee, best BBQ best bars all within blocks. It was an easy 25 minute walk from the convention center. Jean and Shane are super sweet and very easy to communicate with. The shower was SO nice, and having a washer/dryer in the house also came in handy. Super brownie points for having basic toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toothpaste. You guys outdid yourselves! Much love.

This house is as beautiful as the pictures. The shower has great pressure (very important for us always!). We slept very well without changing the thermostat at all. It's pretty bright in the morning so bring an eyemask. The kitchen is fun to cook breakfast at - you feel like you're inside an Anthropologie catalog. No critters! Overall very pleasant stay.

great space!! well designed, light, clean, convenient to downtown, plus the parks & river. East Austin is a great up and coming neighborhood - you can see and feel it everywhere with cool restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Jean did a really nice job making it easy for our family.

Gorgeous architecture just as pictured. Hosts were super friendly and easy to communicate with. They left a great personal guide to the city which we used every day. Hosts live here full-time, so expect to find lots of personal items in the house.

Jean User ProfileJean is a superhost.

We met in Switzerland when I was 17 and he was 23. After years of traveling the world individually and living abroad, we reconnected in Portugal, first and then Paris. How can you not fall in love in Paris? We moved to Barcelona and he finished his Masters in Architecture while I finished mine in Environmental Sciences. After a few years it felt like time to move back to the United States to make a home. First we tried NYC but found that Austin was the right fit of New York quality food, Barcelona funky and Austin originality.
After a year of learning the different areas of Austin, we were fortunate to find this stunning property in the East Austin Holly Neighborhood that we had our eye set on. Garden street is located on a hill right before the land dips down to the flood plains before the lake. Because of that, our house is propped up on the hill and takes advantage of the stunning sunset and tree canopies of the flood plain.
Living abroad, we wanted an area like Holly where we could take advantage of walking to our favorite restaurants, bars and corner stores. We also love the parks, springs, outdoor adventures and of course- culinary delights. The climate makes it easy to play outside all day and enjoy a BBQ or beer watching an amazing Austin sunset.
