Thank you for such perfect accommodations and for the great tips on swimming and food, etc. we had a great time and your house was so comfortable and a great home base :)
I wonder if you had your baby yet?? Good luck and congratulations! Thanks again for everything
Wonderful home and neighborhood. Jean was a tremendous host. She provided a welcome basket an extremely detailed welcome packet.
Jean and Shane's home was remarkable, a true piece of art tucked in a warm Austin neighborhood. I was met by Jean when I first arrived, she was very helpful and had even left us a welcome basket on the table with local treats inside. We had access to the entire home, including the fridge where we found local eggs and a few other groceries Jean had purchased for us to enjoy. The home was spotless and very comfortable. It is located near anything and everything so you won't have to go far to enjoy Austin. There is a Roaster that lives next door that will make sure you are up bright and early so be aware of that. Also the windows are huge (and gorgeous) so there isn't a ton of privacy downstairs bc of how close the neighbors are. All in all it was picture perfect and better then we expected!
Jean's house is absolutely beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. The house was clean, spacious, and felt incredibly homey. Plus, it's in a great location: close enough to downtown where you could walk if you choose.
Also, Jean was amazing throughout the whole process. From the moment we booked to when we finally checked out, she was incredibly thoughtful, welcoming, and responsive. She's the best.
I would definitely book this house through Jean again.
From the moment I booked the place Jean was all over making sure that I was confirmed. A few days prior to arrival I recieved a welcome pack that went through the house, food, night life and everything I could have ever needed to know about Austin! The house was beautiful and pictures didn't do it justice. When we arrived Jean had a great welcome basket as well as meet us in person to walk us through the house. To top it off she picked up a six pack of local beer, eggs, ham, bread and blueberries! I highly recommend if you are traveling to Austin to check out this spot! Thanks Jean for making me feel at home!
Jean's home was absolutely stunning! And we loved the location in East Austin. While we were very close to great restaurants and nightlife, we found the neighborhood to be quiet and safe. Jean met us upon our arrival and gave us a quick tour of the house. She made us feel very welcome and accommodated our requests.
About the Host, Jean
We met in Switzerland when I was 17 and he was 23. After years of traveling the world individually and living abroad, we reconnected in Portugal, first and then Paris. How can you not fall in love in Paris? We moved to Barcelona and he finished his Masters in Architecture while I finished mine in Environmental Sciences. After a few years it felt like time to move back to the United States to make a home. First we tried NYC but found that Austin was the right fit of New York quality food, Barcelona funky and Austin originality.
After a year of learning the different areas of Austin, we were fortunate to find this stunning property in the East Austin Holly Neighborhood that we had our eye set on. Garden street is located on a hill right before the land dips down to the flood plains before the lake. Because of that, our house is propped up on the hill and takes advantage of the stunning sunset and tree canopies of the flood plain.
Living abroad, we wanted an area like Holly where we could take advantage of walking to our favorite restaurants, bars and corner stores. We also love the parks, springs, outdoor adventures and of course- culinary delights. The climate makes it easy to play outside all day and enjoy a BBQ or beer watching an amazing Austin sunset.
