Interaction with Guests
The Host: Been Living in Costa Rica for 14 years, my experience and knowledge of the lifestyle, cultures and adventures is available to help others discover the Magic of La Fortuna and other parts of this special country.
La Fortuna is an enjoyable experience for all , with flowing rivers, natural hot springs, waterfalls, the 33 mile fresh water Lake Arenal, Cerro Chatto Crater Lake , butterfly gardens and a large variety of amenities. The many vacationers who find the Pure Vida return home feeling satisfied and relaxed.
Visitors can get to Fortuna by Bus, Car or Plane. The road from both of Costa Rica’s airports are paved, well marked and scenic. The plane is a 12 passenger that flies low allowing you to see Costa Rica’s beautiful landscapes; sit back and enjoy the many waterfalls, rivers and volcanoes.
The Arenal Volcano has its own National Park (Parque National Vulcan Arenal)
This almost 30,000 acre national park allows visitors to get an even better understanding of the Arenal Volcano and a much closer look. The Flora and fauna found it this primary rain forest is some of the newest on earth.
There are plenty of nature hikes in the area; the one I highly recommend is the climb to Cerro Chatto Lake. Vulcan Chatto is a dormant volcano; its crater is filled from hundreds of year of rain fall. It is an intense uphill hike to over 3,500 feet but I assure you it is worth every step of the way. Park hours are from 8am to 5pm
The La Fortuna Waterfall is another one of Mother Nature’s tours. Take a short 4klm hike from La Fortuna and you will be standing up top of the 230 foot waterfall. Gaze upon the power of water as it rolls of and dumps into the fresh rejuvenating pools bellow. Hike down the base to the pools to recharge, relax and take some photos. Waterfalls are open from 8-5pm
La Fortuna and all the amenities anyone could need is a 15 minute walk or 2 minute cab ride from the cabins.

Jonathan is a great experience organizer. He and Sofia (his wife) recommended and set up the excursions my family took with safe and responsible operators. The cabins that we stayed at were incredible and right at the edge of a cliffside with the roaring sounds of the river down below (this was so relaxing)!!!!! Our balcony had an amazing view! The plant and animal life were amazing and the owner/operator of the cabins were constantly asking if all our needs were met - we loved, loved Felix and his wife. If you do not like tourist traps and being accosted by all kinds of people for your money this is your host. These cabins are right at the edge of town in a very peaceful and quiet location. My husband runs and the running loop Jonathan suggested was a real Costa Rican experience. La Fortuna is a tourist town and Jonathan is a really good guy. You WILL NOT go wrong in this area if you have his help. P.S. Don't skip the thermal spa - - my most relaxing experience in all of Costa Rica. Hi Sofia! Miss you! You and your family are welcome in our home in Florida!
Jonathan was a terrific host. His heart is in the right place, (as evidenced by his great respect for the people and landscape of Costa Rica), and his suggestions for our itinerary were really helpful. We felt welcomed and well cared for, in this beautiful country! Thanks, Jonathan.

Johnathan was wonderful and so was everyone, the cabins are ideal in a beautiful location surrounded by nature and a symphony of jungle music with the river in the background. My daughter and I truly enjoyed our stay and I'm sure you will to.
The cabin was awesome. Jonathan and Felix made us feel right at home the minute we arrived. Jonathan was also able to help us book all of our adventuring and hot springs tours for the short time that we were there. Would highly recommend the cabinas for anybody looking to see the area and not be in the super touristy parts of town.
I would 100% recommend these cabinas to anyone looking to stay in La Fortuna! They were new, had wifi, parking, a back deck, full kitchen, were clean. Most importantly the host was very informed and so nice! Made us feel at home! The care takers of the property were just as amazing. You're guaranteed a great, relaxing stay here!
Very clean cabina, plenty of room and fully equipped kitchen. We (couple) stayed there for 2 nights. Quiet surrounding, some km outside of Fortuna centre. Nice hammock on the patio. However, we never met Jonathan during our stay and the identity of our real host kept being intransparent until the end.
Thanks for the feedback, Felix, Gabriel and myself all work together as your host to make sure visitors of the cabins are comfortable safe and informed.
We are always available, via reception, phone call or message by way of AirBnB. My profile TRANSPARENTLY states this, phone number, e-mail address, office directions and and emergency contact should need be. Why would I not want our visitors to know whom or how to contact the host?; AirBnB also make this quite visible. I did not hear from you after my previous messages and Felix never called so I believed you did not require any further assistance.
Your AirBnB host, Jonathan Turcotte
I stayed in the cabins with three girl friends for a few days as our first stop in Costa Rica. They are about a mile off of the main road in town, and on the road that leads to the waterfall. The family that ran our cabins was so kind, and despite our lack of Spanish, they were able to help us arrange activities. We loved the birds that Felix would feed each morning during breakfast, and our hammock on the back porch.
