Beautiful traditional apartment in the centre of one of Italy's foremost 'città d'arte', a few hundred metres from the Cathedral. Ideal as a base for travel in and around Umbria's historic hill towns, vineyards and Etruscan archaeological sites.

The space

Traditionally-furnished apartment on first floor with large living room, eat-in kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, balcony with table and chairs overlooking courtyard garden.

Guest access

Full and exclusive use of the apartment. There is no elevator, however only one flight of stairs is required to enter the apartment.

Interaction with guests

Neighbour and caretaker will check you in and out, and look after guests as much as they wish. Do you need a sauce for tonight's pasta? Ask Sestilia and she will organise it for you at a minimal cost. Owner is in Rome and happy to meet guests passing through the eternal city.

Other things to note

The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet, and face onto an interior garden. Although there is no air-conditioning, the apartment is insulated with thick walls and cross ventilation, so that the temperature is pleasant even in the middle of summer.

Wireless Internet

House Rules

This is a home. We ask that you treat it and its contents as if it were your aunt's house. Please do not smoke inside the apartment. Although a cleaning service is provided at the end of your stay, please do your best to leave the place as you find it.

We enjoyed a relaxing few days in Ann's historic, ideally located apartment. She was very prompt and helpful with responses to all our questions. The apartment is spacious for a medieval town and very comfortable. The location is one block from the center of Orvieto, only a few blocks from the Duomo. The rooms combined history with modern conveniences like WiFi which worked very reliably. We enjoyed her apartment much more than our brief stay in a local hotel.

Ann was a most gracious hostess, going the extra mile to help us. She made herself available for any questions that arose. The house was great...comfortable beds and everything a family would need at a very generous rate. This was our first try with a service like Airbnb and we couldn't be happier. I would recommend Ann's home without reserve!

The location is terrific. We enjoyed the terrace. It is well equipped and beds were very comfortable. Although we didn't meet Ann she stayed in contact. We will definitely stay again. Thank you Ann!

Ann is a wonderful host. Although we did not meet in person, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, even offering very helpful advice about train schedules, and how to find the apartment, etc. A very warm and generous host, and signora Sestilia, the woman on-site in Orvieto, was equally pleasant. The home is even better than the pictures show. Very clean and comfortable and loaded with charm (beautiful old furniture, shelves of old books, and old family photos). It very much has a lived-in homey feel and is in a perfect location, right in the heart of Orvieto. Orvieto is a magical city. Every street contains new treasures. The people are friendly and I did not have a bad meal the week I was there. I plan to return to Orvieto and hope to stay in Ann's home again when I do.

This family jewel is an excellent choice for a place in the heart of Orvieto. All the information provide by the host, Ann, was on target and described perfectly. The place was cozy but yet spacious and provided plenty of space for cooking, relaxing and enjoying all the local historical sites, restaurants and shops. We highly recommend this place and will spread the word to our friends. We hope to be back. Thank you for your hospitality and we hope to return again. Warm regards, Mary and Stephen

We loved staying at Ann's home in Orvieto. The directions were accurate and easy, and we were met with a key and nice greeting from her neighbor. This is a beautiful family home, perfectly located in Orvieto, near the Duomo. The amazing thing was how quiet it was. We slept like babies, and could even take afternoon naps easily, despite its central location. Ann was easy to communicate with and most accommodating. We would definitely choose this home again, when we return to Orvieto.
