We are a family of three (plus our friendly miniature dachshund named Guinness) and we live in the upper portion of the house. We are extremely conscious when we have guests in house to respect your privacy and keep noise to a minimum. Your apartment is totally private, but we do share the house so you might hear us at times. Although the apartment bedroom is very quiet and peaceful we provide complimentary eye masks and earplugs for those light sleepers! Our flower shop is just down the street in Fremont, so we frequently stop by the house. We hope to meet you soon!
The apartment is fully private. You share the rest of the grounds with us. Yay!
We interact with you as much as you like. We have years of experience working in hotels and other service industries. Trust us...we'll know if you want to keep to yourselves or if you want our advice.
The apartment entrance is private and located in the back courtyard. The apartment is not shared space, but we do share the yard and common areas.
Interaction with guests
One of us is generally around as we live in the upper half of the house and run our flower shop just down the street. Occasionally we are gone camping or on a short trip.
The neighborhood is mostly residential with a smattering of businesses throughout that range from Chihuly's glass blowing studio to breweries, Light in the Attic record label and other small artisan shops. The Frelard community or Halibut Flats (as our local neighborhood is called) is a mix of mid 1900's fisherman homes and new construction. We are very close to the largest fishing trawler fleet in the world near the Ballard Bridge! You will find the neighborhood eclectic yet humble, safe and friendly.
You can also catch a bus to almost anywhere within 5 blocks of the apartment. The #28 leaves 1/2 block from the house and you're downtown in 20 minutes, the #44 leave 5 blocks away to the University of Washington in 15 minutes!
We are in a walkable area between the heart of Ballard and the heart of Fremont.

Michael and Jean Louise have lived in Seattle for over 19 years. We enjoy music (especially listening to KEXP), good books, art, running, hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing, skiing, etc. We are self-employed running a flower studio that has been in business for 13 years. Our son and miniature dachshund complete our little family. We like for our guests to be as comfortable as possible. Whether you like to be left alone or like to talk about the area and are looking for recommendations, we are happy to accommodate.
