Lovely rural setting with plenty of room for small family. Extra things like bread, jam and cereal were very welcome after our long drive. Host Gary was informative and helpful about surrounding area sites! Grandson loved the donkeys chickens and little dogs!

We had a wonderful stay at the barn. Gary and Sheelagh were so welcoming, and the renovations to the barn were beautifully done. Comfortable bedrooms and well appointed bathrooms made our visit very relaxing, and Gary gave us a great recommendation for lunch on our way out of town.

The converted barn is very well renovated and has all the modern amenities inside one could need. The location is great, far enough out in the country that it is very quiet and secluded, but close enough to Clonmel and Kilkenny for meals, etc. Sheelagh, her husband and son were great hosts and made our arrival and departure great. We spent some time talking out in the garden, while our kids admired the baby ducks, chickens and played with the dogs.

Tess and Gary were helpful in getting us all the necessary information beforehand, and they also greeted us kindly and left us an excellent selection of foods and snacks upon arrival. During our stay, they were always friendly and helpful, even going as far as leaving us some carrots so our two daughters could fed them to the donkeys on the property! The converted barn is beautiful inside and has a very nice layout. The kitchen too was excellent, and everything worked well when we made a few meals. For those seeking peace and quiet, the location is absolutely perfect. Because the location is a little remote, there isn't as much to do there as there might be in some places, so make sure to bring a good book and be prepared to relax and unwind. I think the only difficulty we had during our stay was that our cell service worked minimally, if at all, in the rural location, and then the wifi signal wasn't very strong in the house. It worked solidly only by one window, and so if we weren't standing there, the signal wouldn't really work for us. Aside from that, though, our visit was great. We walked to a neighborhood spring-fed well and our daughters played in the stream. We played with the friendly dogs on the property and fed the donkeys. We also drove to a nearby village to have a great lunch and grab some groceries to cook back at the house. All in all, it was a welcome and peaceful break in our Ireland vacation.

Response from Sheelagh:
Thanks for your review. There was a selection of movies available in the cottage for your enjoyment. As for the wifi the signal is boosted from the house but thus last week has not been as strong as normal same goes for the mobile coverage. We no longer have a land line phone and rely solely on mobiles which majority of the time work well.

Tess and Gary were so welcoming and friendly. Our arrival and departure times were flexible. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. There was coffee, tea along with breads and wonderful jams provided. They suggested a great place for dinner and an extraordinary evening at the local pub Guinan's for music and interaction with the pub owners and locals. If you want to hear a pin drop and have a chance at a clear night filled with stars...this is the place. Our family had a wonderful time!

We were welcomed with scones, fresh bread and milk and a friendly couple in a very clean and tidy space. They provided us with needed instructions, made themselves available and also gave us space to care for our family. They helped our son after some stinging nettles gave him a rash. We enjoyed the space. Our sons loved the donkeys and the space to run and play.
