The perfect location in Dublin - so close to the city and yet you can breathe! Just a 20 minute stroll from the city centre or 10 minutes by train. The station (Sandymount) is one minute's walk from the house. Silicon Docks is just 2 stops away.
A really beautiful, comfortable and stylish house.

Interaction with Guests

A truly wonderful location in a quiet, leafy little street, close to all the main attractions Dublin has to offer. Great pubs and restaurants in Ballsbridge or in the pretty village of Sandymount are both just a short five minute stroll away, with a Tesco supermarket, a good butcher, greengrocers (which also sells some speciality health foods), a book shop, some nice boutiques and some very good restaurants and famous pubs. There are also landmark pubs, excellent restaurants in Ballsbridge which is even closer but has less of a 'village' atmosphere.
Our favourite thing is to walk to the Poolbeg light house for sweeping views of Dublin Bay - and if you're lucky you will find a fisherman selling mackerel straight out of the sea!
20 minutes walk from the city, 10 minutes by train - or take the bus. The train station is right around the corner or the bus stop into the city is also extremely close by.
Other Things to Note
Extremely close to the RDS where the legendary Dublin Horse Show is held each August. In summer, you can have a barbecue in the garden or take a stroll down to Sandymount beach. You can meet all your grocery shopping requirements at the Tesco in Sandymount.
Please do not smoke in the house. We do not allow pets.
Beautiful place, great host, everything as discribed, located next to Sandymount Dart Station (perfect access to Dublin centre), nice breakfast place (Browns) around the corner. Eamon is just the perfect host: flexible, organized, lovely and funny. We really enjoyed our stay (and lit the fire place every single evening:-))
We were delighted when Eamon responded to our last minute request, a prompt reply despite it being Stephens day. All arrangements were made with ease, Eamon arranged for us to collect the key and we found the house to be inviting and so comfortable on arrival; Both log fires were set and beautiful bed linen and towels were prepared for us. We were lucky enough to enjoy the gigantic traditional Christmas tree, and super dining table, allowing us to host our Christmas family gathering in true banquet style!
Eamon was a fantastic host; the house was lovely and cosy with a gorgeous fire already burning in the fireplace when we arrived. The house is just lovely, beautifully decorated with a wonderful homely feel and the kitchen cupboards were full with everything you could possibly need! The area was great, we had breakfast both days in Browns which I can highly recommend and getting the dart into the city centre could not have been easier – to be honest we didn’t want to leave
This was one of my best Airbnb experiences to date, and I've had many. The house was perfectly as described - the photos are accurate, and house is so very well appointed in a great area.
Eamon was particularly welcoming and checked in to be sure all was well. Very clean, very spacious and up-to-date fixtures, the stay could not have been better.
The location was also great - a very short walk from the train in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to everything that I needed.
I really enjoyed the stay and it exceeded expectations. I'd stay again in a heartbeat and recommend to others.
We had a great time in Dublin! Thanks to the tastefully renovated house with all facilities required for a short stay. The neighbourhood is quiet, but all amenities are close by. It's just a short walk to the train station and the pretty village of Sandymount.
Eamon and Nicola made us feel really welcome. A recommendation to anyone!
Nicola and Eamon were very gracious hosts. They opened up their home to our travel group with wonderful tomatoes on the counter and a warming fireplace in the living room ready to be lit with one match. The large, private back yard was wonderful which is adjacent to a large, eat-in kitchen to enjoy the evenings. Beautiful home! Close to train station and a very short walk to village. I would recommend to anyone, anytime!
Hi we're Nicola and Eamon.
This is our spacious family home in the quiet but very centrally located Ballsbridge area. The Intercontinental hotel is just close by so it's a great neighbourhood.
The famous Irish poet WB Yeats was born around the corner on Sandymount avenue! ( This year sees the 150th anniversary of his birth)
The Dart (light rail) is literally a two minute walk from the house. It brings you right into the city in ten minutes - or out to the pretty seaside towns and villages of Howth, Dalkey and Killiney where you can stroll around the shops and sample the local seafood.
The house was built in 1892 - it's on a lovely terrace overlooking a little park and tennis court owned by the residents of our street.
You can catch a glimpse of the famous rugby venue, the Aviva stadium right at the top of the road.
The RDS - home to the legendary Dublin Horse Show is less than five minute's walk away.
The picturesque village of Sandymount is also very close by - with nice little shops, cafes and lovely restaurants for a very easy and relaxed night out.
We renovated the house top to bottom recently but did our best to maintain the character and charm.
It's a lovely warm family home, 140 sq metres large. It has a great kitchen with a 'snug' just off it where you can watch tv in front of an antique French stove in which we burn wood and Irish turf.
A tranquil sitting room at the front overlooks the park and it has an open fire where you can sit and read peacefully, listening to the radio, relaxing after a day of sightseeing!
A little bit about us: We are college buddies who first met while studying in University in Galway, now we're married with 3 kids.
Pre-kids we did a good bit of travelling but post-kids we've done even more! Among our favourite places on the planet are Buenos Aires, Budapest and Kyoto. We consider ourselves easy going and fun and would love people to enjoy our home in our absence!
We are very proud of our Airbnb 'superhost' status - thanks to all the lovely guests we've hosted so far - and we work hard to maintain it!!
