Located in DC’s hip Shaw neighborhood, The Firehouse on R housed the first fully African American fire company in Washington, DC! Built in 1884 and renovated in 2017 by a renowned interior designer and TV celebrity, it blends exposed architecture, historic photography, and modern amenities.

This spacious 3,000 sq. ft (or 280 square meter) penthouse sleeps 14 comfortably.

***IMPORTANT: Parking subject to availability and $30/night per car in private driveway. Please inquire about availability.

The space
As seen on Netflix's "Stay Here" (season 1 episode 8).

Exposed brick and wooden beams everywhere! Big bedrooms and amazingly designed bathrooms. Huge gas/remote fireplace. House interior and furniture was designed by a world famous TV celebrity designer in 2017. Tons of historic artifacts, the original fire pole exists in unit, and tons of historic photographs displayed. I don't know a better historic rental available anywhere!

#1 RULE!! Absolutely NO HOUSE PARTIES! This is for residential use only.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW NO PARTY RULE = forfeiture of 100% of your security deposit plus full rent plus eviction. Please follow this rule. Cameras are outside of the property.

House is professionally cleaned before and after each stay. Hotel-like standard of cleanliness.

Guest access
5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in unit. Private access. Parking available for two cars. 2 Washers/dryers in unit. Cable/wifi/netflix included with all other utilities. Access to roof deck at discretion of owner. Easy access to trash and recycling cans through back garage coded door. Cameras for outside perimeter. 100% keyless entry.

When looking at house from street the two parking spaces on left are yours. Third space and one in front of gate are for owners unit

Other things to note
Check Out Instructions:

Take out Trash/Recycling out back of house. There is alleyway access through the Big Grey/Metal Garage Door. Code box on right side. NEVER leave trash anywhere else or it will cause a rodent problem.

Leave towels in bathrooms and sheets on beds.

Run dishwasher too.
