About This Listing
The guest bedrooms are newly renovated. The blue room has a double bed, nightstand, tall dresser, wardrobe, alarm clock & full length mirror. The purple bedroom has a double bed, 2 night stands, triple dresser with mirror, chair, clock radio to use.
My home backs onto a secluded public park, so it is great for children. There is a patio with gazebo, table and chairs and propane barbeque for your use (weather dependent).
I have 2 double beds available, one in each bedroom, so comfortably I can host 4 people. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans.
If only one bedroom is required, I charge $40.00 per night. If you need only one room, please book through my my other listings on Airbnb. One is titled "1 bed, near Mariposa skating school" and the other is titled "quiet room, Mariposa skating, $40".
Blue bedroom - A comfortable double bed awaits you in the blue bedroom. There is a ceiling fan (& air conditioning), bedside lamp, tall dresser, wardrobe, computer desk, full length mirror & projection alarm clock. A triple dresser is used to hold your suitcase.
Purple bedroom - This lovely bedroom is quiet & faces west so you can sleep in without bright light waking you! There is a double bed, side tables, lamps, clock radio, ceiling fan (also central air conditioning), chair & triple dresser with mirror for your use.
Guests have access to the yard, patio, park behind the house. Feel free to use the kitchen, living and dining room. Large flat screen television is in the living room and I have Bell Satellite TV.
One full bathroom is shared with owner. There is a hair dryer, curling irons and basic toiletries available. I provide towels and facecloths.
I have a washer and dryer for your use from 7pm to 11pm weekdays and any time on weekends (we have different hydro rates so I only use during off-peak hours).
My home office and my bedroom are off limits.
Interaction with Guests
I will likely be present during your arrival to make sure you have all you need and are comfortable. After that, I will let you have your privacy and freedom.
I live in a quiet neighbourhood. My house is on a dead end street, so there is hardly any traffic. There is a park with great walking trails nearby.
I am located within walking distance to the Mariposa skating school held at the Allendale arena in Barrie.
Barrie has a wonderful waterfront, with public swimming. There are museums, lots of restaurants nearby, grocery stores, shopping, movie theatres. I can help you with finding what you need, provide maps, etc.
Parking is on-street during the spring, summer and fall. Winter parking will be discussed as there is no overnight parking on street allowed due to snow plowing. There is public transit 2 minutes away on the main street.
Other Things to Note
I have an orange tabby cat named Moxie, but she is shy and you likely will not see her. She is an indoor cat.
I keep my house clean and expect my guests to clean up after themselves. I have a bar sized refrigerator for you to store your own groceries. Dishes are to be washed (or put in dishwasher) and kitchen tidied after each meal. Dishwasher is run after 7pm. to take advantage of off peak hydro time.
I work full time so would appreciate and expect quiet hours from 11pm to 7am.
I do not allow pets (as this would upset my cat).
Guests are welcome to smoke outside. Please use the ashtray provided.
Our stay with Sherry was quite pleasant. She was very warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Also a pleasure to chat with! Overall, it felt like staying with an old friend rather than at a stranger's place.
The house and neighborhood are as described in the ad: quiet and secluded but with easy access to the highway and busier parts of town. All of the guest areas (kitchen, bedrooms, washrooms) were well kept and very clean.
Sherry was very nice and friendly host. She showed us around the house and answered all the questions we had. The bedroom, living room and kitchen were very neat and tidy. She was very hospitable. My friends and I highly recommend this place for a short or long stay in Barrie.
Sherry is al lovely host! She welcomed us very friendly, showed us the house and answered all of our questions concerning the city of Barrie and what to see and do. The house is located in a quiet area just about 15 minutes away from the city centre by bus. Sherry provided us several items to make breakfast by ourselves. Some evenings we had really nice dinners and interesting talks so that we got to know better the Canadian culture. We felt very comfortable from the beginning to the end of our 1 week stay and definately recommend this accomodation! Thank you for a wonderful stay, Sherry! :)
