The Koenji Place is at a very convenient location -
Only 1 minute walk away from the JR Koenji station, 7 minutes from Shinjuku by JR Chuo/Sobu line and 15 minutes from Shibuya.
A 24hours supermarket, convenient store, and McDonald's are all within 1 mins from the place.
Koenji town is one very unique place, it's where the old and new blends well, and the town offers so many restaurants and Bars, Izakayas, Ramen shops, Live music clubs that are fueled by the young generation with lots of Genki energy.
The room is equipped with bed and bedding, free WIFI, airconditioner, desk, chair, hanger, shelf, lamp, and window to serve your comfortable stay.
There are 2 shower rooms, 2 toilets and a functional kitchen, which are to be shared with other guests.
Smoking is allowed on the outdoor wood deck on the top floor, no smoking in other public spaces and rooms please.
The Modern Japanese Design creates a calm and chilled out atmosphere, enabling you to have a relaxing stay.
We have our company regulation that we do not accept children under 10 years old.
because have very steep and skinny stairs 1F-2F and 2F to 3rd floor.
It has risk that small children might fall down and risk of injury from this point of view.
and for your safe and smiley trip in Japan.
also we had some complained before that children cried at night time to bothered some other guests sleeping.
Koenji Place is very convinient. My room wasn't too big but I had everything I needed to sleep and keep my things safe. The house is clean and very well organized and Toshi & Henry helped me to get there with no problem and explained everything. The only problem was that it is so close to the station, you can hear the underground announcements from very early morning but you just need some earplugs and it's sorted.
Koenji is a great area with lots of second hand and vintage shops, nice bars, restaurants, karaoke, market and all cheaper that central Tokyo. Only four stops on the train to the center, very easy to get there.
Altogether great experience and very good value for money. Strongly recommended : )
Very nice location, 5 stations from Shinjuku (or Shibuya? Sorry I forget) Truly 2 minutes walk from station exit. Nice room, nice bed and environment too.
But make this clear, this is a hostel. So expect something as a hostel but not a apartment. And one important drawback is the train station is so near, and the noise could wake you easily in the morning.
Nice host too!
Very convenient location. Check-in and out was simple and fuss-free too. Would definitely come back again.
Great place will definitely stay again thanks toshi
I stayed in koenji for only one week. But the hospitality was excellent. The room I had was the perfect size for traveling alone. I met a few people in the same house and they where fun and exciting to go out with. Koenji is an awesome place know for the punk/rock community. Many places for grey foods and shopping in the area . It's less then a minute walk to the train and not far from shinjuku/shibuya/harajuku etc. I enjoyed my stay there and will definitely be staying there again.
Great location—I had never stayed or visited Koenji before, so it was a plus to see the eclectic mix of people in the town. In addition, Koenji is located super close to central Tokyo, so really easy to get around. As for Koenji Place, the room was exactly what I needed—reasonably priced and private! I loved the ingenuity of the place and would certainly stay there again. Additionally, Toshi was kind enough to open the door for me and have me checked in (thanks, Maria) on relatively short notice (which I really appreciated because of my hectic schedule). 5 stars.
Koenji is a nice place, everything here is convenient. The place I'm staying is close to everywhere. Subway Station, A 24 hour Grocery Supermarket, Fast Food chains, 100 yen Shop, Pharmacy, Liquor Store, QB Barber Shop (1000 yen), Clothing Store. You name it! Food and Drinks here are also inexpensive.
If you like Live Music, you came to right place. They Koenji is the birthplace of Punk. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
I had a great time in Toshi’s Place. the room is cozy and private, everything was great!
good location, good host and everything you need in there: kitchen, WIFI ,TV ..and more. just like live at home.
Koenji is a very nice and special area, I like got lost in Koenji street , you can find some cheap but good restaurant , used bookstore and vintage cloth shop…You can experience the different Japanese culture in here.
Definitely will stay again next time!
Thanks for everything:)
I had the best time in Tokyo thanks to Koenji Place. Toshi and Hiro are awesome and easy going people. The rooms are good size and clean. The price considering where you are staying is excellent. Literally right next to Koenji Station. You can go to Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku quickly and easily. Koenji as a neighborhood is rad. Live music and thrift shopping galore. I caught a cold and Toshi offered to go to the store and get food and medicine for me. Not like some hotel. They are your friends!!!!! Thanks guys...
The location is pretty great Koenji is just a short ride from Shinjuku (the major transit hub of Tokyo), so rest assured- you'll be able to get anywhere in this vast city easily. Just keep an eye on express / local trains on the Chuo line (some express won't stop at Koenji station!).
The room is adequate. I'm 6'1" and had no issues with its size. The bed is long enough for me to stretch out completely. This is a rooftop room, so while it's close to the rooftop shower and laundry, you'll have to deal with the noise from the station (stops before 1am), and other guests enjoying the rooftop patio. It's quite hard to find, so please follow the advice given and allow the hosts to meet you at the station!
Toshi was the guest who I dealt with during my weekend here. He kindly picked me up from the station and showed me around the parts of the guesthouse- very friendly!
Overall, this place is good value, but has some tiny drawbacks that people could nitpick, but hey- you're in Tokyo! Go out and enjoy yourself!
Quick note about the neighborhood: it's quite unique from other places in Tokyo- peoples attitudes are a little different, and you might see some punk fashion around (:
