About this listing
Located in a quiet area in the vicinity of the Museum. A bedroom with a double bed, air conditioning, hot water, a mini-fridge, cable TV and wifi. In a gorgeous tropical garden that families and children will love!
A friendly stay with a Cambodian family. The bedroom is on the ground floor of a renovated villa built to Sangkum Reast Niyum (pre-war) standards. We're very proud of our huge garden. In the mango season, just stretch out your hand to eat to your heart's content!
The room has air conditioning, hot water, a fridge, cable television and wifi. Guests have access to our very big garden (with benches, deck chairs, tables, a swing etc) and can play with our small dogs (they're friendly).
Interaction with Guests
Nida Villa is our home but you will have your private room and bathroom, and access to the living room and dining room. We're happy to help in every way we can. There's always somebody home.
It's a quiet neighborhood, yet it's close to the Grand Hotel and the Royal Garden. Businesses in the area close at night so we're rarely bothered by loud music. We get our groceries at the "iron bridge market", a short walk away.
A tuk-tuk ride costs about two dollars to the old market, but we can book you one for a day for about fifteen dollars.
Other Things to Note
We're located on a main thoroughfare but our house is located at the back of a large garden, which means we don't hear traffic at all.
Free pick up from the airport or the bus station. Daily room cleaning included. Breakfast available at extra $3 per person: tea, coffee, jam, butter, bread and omelet. Laundry service available at extra cost.
It's a quiet neighborhood and we often have families staying with us.
Thony ia an excellent host, he did all to pamper us and also when we had privat wish to go to a place which was not easy to find he drove us with his car there. The room we had was perfect and just as on the pictures: spacy and very clean. The bathroom with every day fresh towels, the room cleaned up every day and decorated every day with fresh flowers.
We could really recommend Thony to everyone.
Thony was a great host! He was extremely friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was super clean and spacious. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid experience.
Thony's place was gorgeous! He and his family were so helpful and kind. Great place to stay!
We had a wonderful time with Thony and his family. The house is beautiful and the room looks exactly like the picture (if not better!), every day we found it spotless clean after we had gone out in the morning with clean towels and fresh water bottles. Thony was always available in case we needed anything and made sure we felt as comfortable as possible. Our bus was way earlier than scheduled on the morning we arrived and he still managed to arrange for us to be picked up even though it was 5am! His tuktuk driver Mr Savuth was also very nice, spoke good English and took us around wherever we needed to. Overall I highly recommend Thony and his beautiful house and garden! (Do play with the dogs, they are lovely too!)
If your plan to Siem Reap is to take a good look at Angkor with having good rest among the intense tour arrangements, then Thony's house will be a perfect choice! Thony is a really nice and helpful gentleman, thanks to his suggested itinerary, I managed to see all the spectacular scenes in Angkor, sunset in Bakheng, sunrise in Angkor Wat, and a late afternoon rainbow above Angkor Wat! The 2 places he highlighted to me, the Artisan Angkor and especially the National Angkor Museum, which is less than 10 min walk from his house, are really worthy a visit. I strongly recommend any first time visitor to spare at least 2 hours for the museum, either before the tour as an prelude, or afterwards as a wrap up. Thony's wife is a beautiful and graceful lady, although she does not speak much English, yet she knows and considers everything for me. I mentioned to her that I would go to see sunrise, forgetting to tell her exact time, then next day when I was going out at 4:30 am, she was already waiting in the garden to open the door for me..I was really moved! Besides, the tuk tuk driver Thony introduced, Mr Savuth, is also super helpful and efficient that he managed to help me to squeeze small circle, big circle and Banteay Srey into 1.5 half days (although the 0.5 day lasted from 4:30 to 13:00...)
The room is nice and clean, even more spacious than what the photo looks like. The tropical garden outside is amazingly beautiful, basically a mini size botanical garden, with 2 lovely dogs!
Then especially for girls who plan to travel alone, don't worry about the location and safety. I walked and jogged between Thony's house and downtown everyday there by myself, even at 9 or 10 pm, it's a very safe route through main road along riverside.
I will definitely come back to Siem Reap, with more knowledge about all Angkor stories, and still stay in Thony's house, as long as it's available by then!
Location, room was great and very clean. Host was very helpful, and very accommodating with our late checkout
Thony's place is everything advertised. It is clean, spacious, perfectly located and has nice hosts.
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay in the middle of the temples and the marketplaces Thony's place would be a great choice.

About the Host, Thony
Welcome to our home! My name is Thony. I live in Nida Villa with my family. We are from Siem Reap. I like French Cheese and wine, chocolates, an evening drink with friends and family around a good meal. We speak some English, a bit of French and my sister who stays with us also speaks Japanese. Together we try to make our guests feel comfortable so that when they come back from exploring Angkor they can relax and feel at home. We can help book tuk-tuks, shows, or tell you where to go (and not to go!).
