The Space

Experience a slice of Shangri-la right in the middle of the city. Enjoy a cozy private room in a beautifully preserved Spanish home circa 1933. The room has it's own private bath and private back entrance. The deck off the room overlooks a huge private park-like backyard that features a hot tub, large swimming pool, BBQ area and plenty of outdoor seating along with a shaded grassy lawn.
We are only minutes from Dream Works, Warner Bros., ABC, NBC, Disney, the Los Angeles Zoo, and downtown Glendale, which boasts the largest collection of retail stores in all of Los Angeles County, with the Americana Mall and the adjoining Glendale Galleria as it's centerpieces.
Silver Lake, Los Feliz and Griffith Park are all a quick ten minute jaunt down the 5 freeway, while Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles are only a 15 minute drive away. Pasadena is also close-by as well as downtown Burbank and the Burbank airport.
Only four blocks away is quaint Kenneth Village, which features a wonderful french bakery that offers irresistible fresh pastries and tarts as well as coffee. The village also features a fabulous Italian restaurant that delivers, and a unique Mexican eatery in addition to many gift stores, a Crossfit gym, a pharmacy, a butcher, a music store and a liquor store as well.
Your hosts Steve and Mike can accommodate special requests if possible. They are extremely knowledgeable of the Los Angeles area and can offer valuable insight and tips as to all of your travel questions.

  • Great place! This was my first Airbnb stay so I have nothing to compare it to but I loved this house and the vibe. Steven was helpful and even gave me a ride to work on my last morning. I will book again when I see an opening that works with my schedule.

  • We loved our stay with Steve and Mike. Their place is so comfortable and there was every amenity we could want. Loved the private bath, comfy bed, pillows and linens and outdoor kitchen! Also loved being able to have coffee on the deck every morning - it was lovely. Pool is awesome and spa is nice too, although there is a $10/day charge to turn on the heat in the spa. We grilled fresh fish every night in the outdoor kitchen and truly lacked for nothing. They even provided 2 comfy bathrobes for our stay which was awesome since they are too bulky to pack, but so comfortable to wear in the mornings. The neighborhood is also very nice and I felt safe in letting my teenage daughter go jogging alone. We would love to stay here again if the opportunity arises!

  • I had an absolutely fantastic time staying with Mike and Steve in their little piece of Shangri-La. The house and grounds are stunning. I could have easily stayed here for weeks. I loved the fact that the room had a separate entrance. You never felt like you were intruding. The room had everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable. I just loved hanging out in the garden and reading a book. This really is a little piece of paradise in the middle of L.A. Mike and Steve we're also very hospitable and we had some great chats. They gave me some good information on where to go and what to see. If your looking for a place to stay in Glendale then look no further.

  • This was my 1st experience using Airbnb for accommodations and it matched my expectations perfectly. My hosts Steven & Mike were welcoming and friendly. I stayed for 5 nights. The separate entrance off the back deck allowed me to come & go without concern of bothering anyone. I enjoyed the pool and the tranquil backyard. The bedroom was a nice size, the queen bed very comfortable & the bathroom roomier than I expected. The space was meticulously clean. I know the area well; it is a safe & beautiful neighborhood. I definately recommend staying here & I would return.

  • One thing I really did appreciate was no surprises. It was as good as it looked. My hosts were charming and convivial and eager to help make my stay comfortable, yet very respectful of my privacy. Loved the back yard and spent a lot of time on private patio. Very comfortable bed and well appointed private bathroom. Take a stroll to Kenneth Village and try some almond croissants from the French Bakery - a real treat. Very quiet and restful location and was ideal for me and I was in between two prime destinations, Burbank and Pasadena. Really easy access to the 134 and just a few minutes from the huge Glendale Galleria. I would return again for sure.

  • AMAZING STAY!!! Not sure where to begin. This home is just as it is photographed but even more stunning and breathe taking in person. The room was a great size for my extended stay with a brand new comfortable mattress on the most beautiful bed I've ever slept in. (actually the space has everything new from linens and rug to furniture) You have an En-suite layout with your own private bath a walk in closet that is furnished with your own mini fridge and though I was too lazy to make my own coffee they have you supplied with coffee, coffee maker and other kitchen basics you may want. My personal favorite amenity to the home (other than the hosts) was the amazing private property. I found myself sitting on the porch outside my room and down by the pool any time of the day or night. It is that peaceful and relaxing. Having your own private access made it easy for me to have my own routine and come and go on my own schedule. I was also pleasantly surprised how convenient Glendale is to everything you would want in a neighborhood. You are city adjacent to my mostly used areas of LA. You are only 10 minutes from Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park and Burbank to the north. I drove in all those directions many different times of the day and it usually averaged only 10 minutes every trip so very convenient. Bring money for shopping though. Downtown Glendale offers both The American on Brand and right behind that is the Glendale Galleria. Great shopping and eating all around there. You will also find a great shopping district in the quaint downtown Burbank. The Los Feliz "Hillhurst" area is yet another area for daytime coffee shops and shopping to some wonderful eats and movie theater. Can't say enough on the connivence of location. I'm missing the space as well as Mike and Steve.

  • Steve and Mike are amazing hosts. I was looking for a place to stay for 9 days and came across their beautiful home. I am new to airbnb and did not know what to expect at all. Steve and Mike went above and beyond my expectations. Steve was very helpful in helping me map out how to get from their home to the destinations I needed to reach. They also had many good recommendations in places to eat and places to see. At first I did stay quiet the first day because I did not want to bother Steve and Mike. They were both very welcoming and checked up on me to see if I needed anything else such as plates, spoons, etc. They provided me with utensils, a bottle opener for my beer that I had bought. I even used their bbq. I had kitchen and laundry privileges as well. Steve and Mike are very friendly and I connected with them right away. I hope to keep in touch with them and will be renting from them again in the future for a mini getaway. Thank you for all you did for me.

  • I stayed with Steven and Mike as I was enrolling in Glendale community college. Since I didn't have acess to a car they offered me a guest bike to use while I was there, and Steven researched what bus to get on and from where, which was such a great help!
The room is a good size and has a really comfortable bed. It also has a fridge, coffe-maker, closet, tv and wifi. You will have your own private entrance and bathroom, and the house is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood.
Steven and Mike are very quiet as well, I never heard them when I was in the room, and they respect your privacy
However they were very helpful when I needed pointers such as where to eat, and generally where I could find places. Very friendly and acommodating, I would highly recommend staying here!
I never used the pool because it was January but I sat out there and it is really nice!
