This house is in a beautiful location and just a walk from town. We saw lots of capuchins from the balcony, toucans near the pool, and howler monkeys on our walk to town. The pool is kept spotless and is always a refreshing dip after walking uphill back to the house after a day at the beach or in town. The kitchen has everything you'd need when you're looking to eat in, and Clandestina right next door has the best food in the area. Our only note is to beware of bugs. We left one of the solid wood security doors open one night - but all windows and doors closed - and fireflies were attracted to the light, still able to get in, and we woke up to piles of dead fireflies on the floor. I'd highly recommend a stay at Casa Tranquila for the location, the pool, the cleanliness, and the unbeatable price.

The best Airbnb EVER. The house is in a quiet, relatively secluded area, with lots of wildlife all around (we saw coati, agouti, howlers, white-faced monkeys, and countless hummingbirds). There are fruit trees all around the property and a lovely pool, but the very best part of the rental are the caretakers, Migdahlia and Andres. They went out of their way to answer questions and help us in any way possible, taking us on the bus to the farmer's market in Cobano, giving us the number for the bank when the Montezuma ATM ate one of our credit cards, and sharing recipes. For less than US$4, Migdahlia will also wash, dry, and fold your laundry. Migdahlia and Andres are amazing! One thing I will note is that there are a LOT of large red ants in the rental, so if you have an issue with insects, Costa Rica in general is probably not the place for you anyway. We kept all our food (and compost bucket as we filled it) in the fridge, but I suspect the ants came around because previous renters may have left food out. The caretakers would surely have done something about the ants had we brought it up, but we didn't because honestly, who cares? This is paradise!

This house is a true gem! Located away from the city center. But in walking distance. The house is modern with AC and two big ceiling fans (one over the beds & one in the kitchen). Big bathroom, and even an outdoor shower! We loved spending time on the terrace eating breakfast or just chill out in the hammock. Big equipped kitchen with pots and pans, coffee machine, blender etc. and big refrigerator with freezer. Tania was very quick to respond to any questions or issues we had and was very accommodating. The caretakers, Migdahlia & Andre, lived in the house next door and were very helpful as well. Make sure to visit the Butterfly garden and have an ice cold beer from the brewery;) Would definitely stay here again if I go back to Montezuma!

If you are looking for peace and jungle sounds this house is for you! We loved this small casa in the jungle. We saw almost every animal in the area sitting on our balcony or down by the lovely pool. It was hard to say goodbye. Tania is very prompt to reply to messages and the couple who take care of the grounds are very sweet and offer you much privacy. A 4 wheel drive car would be advised, it is up a very long and steep road. The roads in general in this area are very bad, but totally worth it. The internet isn't the best, but it offers the basic needs. The restaurant down the road, Candestine, is so good! Try the jiburritto, it's literally the most yummy dish ever.

I had a great stay at this airbnb. The space was clean and it had a kitchen, which allowed me to cook some of my own meals. It was about a kilometer up hill from the edge of town, but I am in good shape, so this didn't bother me and I knew before hand what I had signed up for. I even walked it at night with a flashlight. But if I was out of shape, I would have needed a car or to take a taxi, about $6/per trip. I loved the porch and lay in the hammock and read in the day, and sat outside at the little table in the evenings. The caretakers seemed very nice and were very helpful, though I only spoke to them a few times over the 8 days I was there. They don't speak any English, and my Spanish is dreadful. I saw lots of wildlife from the porch, many birds and howler monkeys. I liked walking to the nearby Clandestina restaurant for a beer. I really have only good things to say about my time at Tania's airbnb.

This space was so beautiful, we loved montezuma and the space was tucked away in lush green. We had the chance to wake up to some howler monkeys. Truly a magical space, very safe and clean.

Casa Tanquila is a nice place to stay in Montezuma. There is a lot of beautiful foliage around the house and you definitely are close to nature here, hearing the howler monkeys and lots of birds. To get here is a steep drive up a mountain (3 big hills) but it is close to town. The more Spanish you know the better as the care takers are primarily Spanish speakers, but knowing very little we were able to understand what was necessary. Migdalia (caretaker) was very kind and patient with us. We enjoyed our stay.
